Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai 2 (Dragon Ball Z: The True Martial Arts Tournament 2) is a 3D fighting game developed by Dimps and published by Bandai Namco for the Sony PlayStation Portable originally released 20 March 2007 in North America and later 07 June 2007 in Japan.
Shin Budokai 2 would be the second of three Dragon Ball titles developed by Dimps for the PlayStation Portable, with Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budōkai releasing a year earlier and the movie tie-in game Dragonball Evolution releasing later in 2009.

Gameplay
Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai 2 builds off of its predecessor Shin Budokai, bringing back all of its mechanics while also introducing some new features. The game is primarily a 3D fighter, with characters able to sidestep to avoid attacks and dash around their opponents. The game focuses primarily on ground combat, though it does allow the player to launch and fight opponents in the air.
Among the new features are improvements to the Aura Burst system, including a new Aura Burst Guard that can block any attack and an Aura Burst Charge that can boost a character's strength.
The game also features a card system which allows the user to increase stats such as health and defense for each of their fighters.
Game Modes
- Another Road: Story mode.
- Arcade: Fight CPU opponents one after the other at the World Tournament.
- Z-Trial: Participate in battles with various conditions.
- Network Battle: Battle other players over the PlayStation Portable's wireless ad-hoc connection.
- Training: Select an opponent and practice.
- Profile Card: Shop for and add stamps to profile card and view battle records.

Certain missions require the player to traverse a world map to fight enemies and protect designated areas from attack.
Story
Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai 2 follows an original story scenario in which Majin Boo is released in Future Trunks timeline. Unable to prevent Majin Boo's release, Future Trunks travels back in time to enlist the help of Goku and his friends.
The story is told through a gameplay mode known as アナザーロード or "Another Road", which features branching story paths.
Characters
All of the characters from Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budōkai return in Shin Budōkai 2, along with three new unique characters, Future Gohan, Bardock and Dabura. Existing characters also have new forms and transformations such as Meta-Coola, and Good and Evil Boo. In total there are 20 unique characters, with 54 total fighter slots counting all transformations and forms.
New characters can be unlocked by progressing through the game's story mode. Super Saiyan 4 Goku is also available as an extra unlockable transformation, being the only Dragon Ball GT exclusive form in the game.
