The Go! Go! Ackman cel comic is a six-chapter manga series written by Takao Koyama and illustrated by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, with editorial supervision from Akira Toriyama. Each chapter is five pages long and produced in full color.
The series serves as a sequel to and continuation from the original Go! Go! Ackman manga series, and originally ran from the November 1994 (released 21 September 1994) to April 1995 (released 21 February 1995) issues of Shueisha's V-Jump magazine. The manga was serialized in conjunction with and to promote the first Go! Go! Ackman video game released on the Nintendo Super Famicom in December 1994.
At the end of its sixth chapter in the April 1995 issue, a small splash states that there would be no chapter in the following May 1995 issue (次号は休みです!!). After a one-month break, the series was followed by a Go! Go! Ackman 2 cel comic starting in the June 1995 issue, and after another one-month break in the October 1995 issue, finally a Go! Go! Ackman 3 cel comic starting in the November 1995 issue.
Characters
- Ackman (アックマン Akkuman)
- Angel (天使 Tenshi)
- Marjo (マージョ Mājo)
- Hermit (仙人 Sen'nin)
Production
The various "Cel Comic" series (セルコミック Seru Komikku) published in V-Jump — as opposed to standard comics (まんが manga) — were notable for their production using cel drawings, and in cases like The Brief Return of Dr. Slump, the Go! Go! Ackman cel comic, and the 1997 Savings Soldier Cashman reboot, continuing the story beyond the original manga series as first written by Akira Toriyama.
As listed on each Go! Go! Ackman cel comic chapter title page:
- Takao Koyama received the "Script" (脚本 kyakuhon) credit.
- Satoru Iriyoshi received the "Drawing" or "Painting" (繪 e) credit.
- Akira Toriyama received the "Original Author" or "Original Work" (原作 gensaku) credit, indicating his role as the creator of the original Dr. Slump manga series. He additionally received the "Supervisor" or "Editorial Supervisor" (監修 kanshū) credit; as a point of comparison, Toriyama received the same credit many years later for Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock, which was written and illustrated by Naho Ooishi.
Chapters
In line with the style established with the original Dr. Slump manga series and subsequent V-Jump sequel series like The Brief Return of Dr. Slump, titles for the first two chapters are followed by の巻 (no maki), indicating that it is the "volume" (or here "chapter") in which those events take place. This appendix has been ignored in the following chapter title translations. This appendix was dropped with the third chapter.

- ↑ The chapter number in this printing is mistakenly unchanged from the "5" in the previous chapter, and is indeed the sixth overall chapter.
