Dragon Ball Roles/Positions

Dragon Ball Fusions the Manga!!

Dragon Ball Fusions the Manga!! is a promotional manga series written and illustrated by Hiroshi Otogi, which originally ran in Shueisha's Saikyō Jump. The series adapts events from the Dragon Ball Fusions Nintendo 3DS game with additional elements unique to the manga. The series ran from the May 2016 to May 2018 issues of the magazine, spanning thirteen regular chapters and three supplemental chapters in other publications. No collected volumes of Dragon Ball Fusions the Manga!! have been released.

DeSpo FighterZ

Following the completion of Dragon Ball Fusions the Manga!!, Otogi moved on to authoring and illustrating DeSpo FighterZ beginning in the September 2018 issue of Saikyō Jump and running through to completion in the magazine's September 2020 issue, spanning thirteen regular chapters and a single supplemental chapter in the Jump Victory Carnival 2019 Official Guidebook. The series follows a group of young protagonists in a world obsessed with eSports as they attempt to become the ultimate Dragon Ball FighterZ pro-gamers. Two collected volumes of DeSpo FighterZ were released in Japan.[1][2]

Additional Work(s)

The final chapter of DeSpo FighterZ ended with a note for readers to look forward to Otogi's next work:[3][4]

Saikyō Jump, September 2020 issue

A new (unrelated to Dragon Ball) series from Otogi entitled TARO began in the March 2026 issue of Saikyō Jump[5][6], having first debuted as a one-shot version back in the June 2025 issue.[7]

Notes

The July 2018 announcement for DeSpo FighterZ — published in the September 2018 issue of Shueisha's V-Jump magazine 21 July 2018, but shared ahead of its release 17 July 2018 on the official Dragon Ball video games Twitter account[8] — mistakenly represented the kanji for Otogi's last name with furigana spelling out おとき instead of the correct おとぎ, leading to a common misspelling/misrepresentation of the name as "Hiroshi Otoki".

The author's name is rendered in the Latin alphabet as "Hiroshi Otogi" in the end credits of the DeSpo FighterZ collected editions.[1][2]
