K-304 is the Kanzenshuu catalogue number assigned to an unreleased piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball anime in 1987. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 50 which was broadcast on 11 February 1987.
Overview
K-304 is a variation on the General Blue introduced in M108. It is given the title "Blue Is Ambitious" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions.
Compositional Analysis
Intro: 4 bars: simple string melody (||: i-V-i-V/V-V :||)
A: 8 bars: low guitar melody, brass response; two 4-bar phrases (||: i-vii˚-V7 :||)
B: 8 bars: horn melody; two phrases, strings respond on 1st phrase, brass on 2nd (i-V/V-V, i-iv-i-V/V-V7)
C: 8 bars: string melody for 4 bars, then trumpets join for 4 bars (||: i-V7/V-V7-i :||)
