Overview

K-46 is given the title "Commander Red" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant, the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions.

Form and Analysis

K-46 is a four-bar piece featuring harmon-muted trumpets that play a slow swing melody: 5-7-1-2-3 in F minor, with the 7 raised as a leading tone (E♮). This is accompanied by F minor-major seventh chords on the piano, with bassoon on F in the bass, first high, then an octave lower at the end.
