M711 is the official catalogue number of a piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball Z anime in 1989. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Z Episode 1 which was broadcast on 26 April 1989.

Overview

M711 is the first iteration of Piccolo's theme in Dragon Ball Z. All iterations of this theme in Dragon Ball were specifically tied to Demon King Piccolo; this is the first to debut after his rebirth.

The full composition is part b of the suite entitled "Ah, Days of Training", which is track #11 on disc #2 of the BGM Collection. The piece was assigned the Kanzenshuu catalogue number of K-724 based on its placement in the series. Though it is the eighteenth BGM in Dragon Ball Z, it is the twenty-fourth BGM debuting after Dragon Ball Movie 3.

M711 is given the title "Piccolo's Bell Theme" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions.
