"Our Hero, Son Goku (~ 'CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA' (Main Title))" was composed and arranged by Norihito Sumitomo for the film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. The vocal parts are performed by Shin'ichi Ishihara and Yōko Yamada. The track listing is #03 on the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Original Soundtrack released on 27 March 2013, and the Kanzenshuu catalogue number is S-103.
Overview
This arrangement of CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA begins with an introductory section that has its own subtitle: "Our Hero, Son Goku". The introductory section plays as Goku dons his fighting uniform and stretches in anticipation of meeting Beerus. The "main title" section, a simplified version of the CHA-LA chorus, plays over the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods title screen.
"Our Hero, Son Goku" consists of an acoustic guitar accompaniment with synth melody and additional synth accompaniment. The "main title" portion of the track introduces electric guitar and vocals. The vocals sing: "CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA" and the electric guitar continues the melody of the ending chorus.
This track is not used in any other Dragon Ball production, but a very similar arrangement of the CHA-LA section is used for CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA (Main Theme) in Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', with a shorter, more "metal" introduction and performance.
There are no differences between the theater and uncut versions of the film when this track is used.
