Unless we're only talking about the voices and not the text.
That is correct -- I've already explained that.
Again, the Japanese voices have been standard inclusions in the North American releases of all the major console Dragon Ball video games since the "Greatest Hits" re-release of Budokai 3 ...

Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
I'm assuming you're talking about Kurilin vs. 2nd form Freeza, in which case I don't see how it's even remotely possible. He didn't do any training, he doesn't get stronger after a near-death experience, and the most he could do against Freeza was slice off his tail and distract him while Dende ...

Re: Raditz a good guy ?
Well, it worked with Vegeta (though Gaffer Tape would dispute that), and he wasn't even related to Goku or looked down on by the other Saiyans. This is why I liked his what-if scenario in BT2.
That said, Goku doesn't really care enough about the guy to waste any time trying to redeem him (why would ...

Re: Was Mr. Satan more useful than Yamucha in DBZ?
For what it's worth, Gohan is consistently shown to be the one sweating and trying to keep up with Dabra, not the other way around, and the dialogue places more emphasis on how much trouble Gohan is having; how Dabra is doing is only brought up once by Babidi, and even then he says Dabra needs to ...

Re: Can Muten Roshi die of old age?
Well, Saichourou was over 500 at his first appearance in the series, and he eventually died due to old age, birthing too many children, and/or becoming too bloated from drinking too much water. And in the Saiyan arc, the God of Earth, who was 500 (according to Herms ' Age guide ), tells Mr. Popo ...

Re: Was Mr. Satan more useful than Yamucha in DBZ?
Vegeta says he'll finish it, but doesn't budge from where he is and does nothing. Goku definitely doesn't want to interfere with the fight.
And I guess it's subjective as to how Gohan was doing but to me it looks like he's losing.
Like people have said repeatedly, that's before Dabra abruptly ...

Re: Saiyans have super memory?
I'm thinking you missed the point entirely, especially since my three theories were the ONLY things I posited, and you seem to agree with them. The question is, "Do Saiyan babies have super memories? Mental capacities that exceed that of real babies?" People have said, "No. It's just the spacepod ...

Re: Saiyans have super memory?
Nope. Sorry. Not buying it. I think you're extremely overestimating an infant's cognitive abilities. Yes, the ability to learn is huge for a child, much more so than for adults. But there is no way for an infant to understand a concept as complex as, "Subjugate a planet's inhabitants." You may as ...

"Excuse me, Mr. Hotpants."
"If you give up now I promise I'll turn you into something useful, like a toaster or a washing machine." Why don't you just throw in "nincombot" as an insult while you're at it?
"THAT DOES IT. NOW I AM MAD." You're a severed head, dipshit.

Re: What makes a god, a god
When I say "preconceived notions" what I mean is in response to the cultural sensitivity angle that calling a wrinkly green guy "God" is somehow offensive. I don't think that has to even play into the equation.
Well, screw cultural sensitivities. On the whole, people in general don't and shouldn ...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I don't think much of Kai. For better or for worse, the original anime is the anime adaptation for me, and I always disliked the replaced music and voice actors. The original anime grew with its audience, and needed filler because it grew with the manga. In some ways, it's a period piece reflecting ...

Re: When candy Vegetto was beating up Buu
It's quite likely that there's nothing Buu could turn Vegetto into that wouldn't hurt him. Vegetto also notes that Buu can't really land a hit on him at candy-size; smaller would be even worse. Better to turn him back to normal; at least then you have more of a target.

Is it the first time that a villain dies in a movie strangely with the feeling "how the hell did that happened?"

So that's what they call it? Goku gathers the miniscule energy of his friends and combines it with his own ...

Re: DBZ Manga censorship
The fact that I was able to get uncensored volumes of both DB and DBZ at the library and was forced to buy censored crap at the bookstore infuriates me. I got all 26 DBZ volumes out of weakness, but when I realized that Yamcha flipping off Tenshinhan had been censored in every version available to ...

Wha-?? I though the extra add-ons in the Kanzenban where perfect (no pun intended). Goku giving Oob the Kinto Un as a way of showing he's really passing down the torch was genius IMO.

He'd weaken him to the point of uselessness and trap him somewhere for all eternity.
How would he do that? The only place where that would be possible is in the Dead Zone, and that's a technique that seems to rely more on magic and demonic power than anything else. Freeza doesn't possess skills ...

Connection between East Kaioshin and Old Kaioshin?
East Kaioshin describes himself as "the youngest, and the weakest" of the Kaioshin. I can't really think of a reason why he'd be so different from his peers, except for this theory; Old Kaioshin was the original East Kaioshin, until he was trapped in the Z-Sword. After that, the present East ...

Re: Toriyama's works exist in a single canon?
I've never read Dr. Slump (I haven't found any of the volumes in English), but Penguin Village seems to have a trippy, out-of-the-way quality that makes it seem strange even by the standards of DB's Earth (there's a laughing sun over it, for one thing). It's almost as if General Blue and Goku ...

I always thought the look on Piccolo's face after his initial attack on Raditz doesn't do anything was pretty funny.
