WE GOTTA POWER (ウィ・ガッタ・パワー, Wi Gatta Pawā) is the second opening theme song for the Dragon Ball Z TV anime series, used from episode 200 until the end of the series. It was written by Yukinojō Mori with vocals by Hironobu Kageyama. Unlike its predecessor theme, CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA, was not updated prior to the end of the series. Widescreen versions were used for Dragon Ball Z movies 10 through 12.

Opening Animation

The second opening animation is a departure from CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA in many ways. Focus shifts from Son Goku to Son Gohan, depicting characters important to the Gohan-centric episodes that will start the Boo Arc including Videl, Erasa, and Sharpna as well as the Great Saiyaman identity. The opening also uses flashbacks and reflections to portray Gohan's journey as central to the series. Notably, the opening does not include Boo or related characters; the animation and character references in the opening extend only to the beginning of the tournament, roughly chapter 433.

	Clouds part and we see Son Gohan, Son Goten, and Trunks riding on Shenlong. Gohan and the others are wearing their first major post-time skip outfits: Gohan is wearing his Gold Star High School uniform, introduced in chapter 421 and episode 199; Trunks his oversized Capsule Corp shirt from chapter 423 and episode 201; and Goten his "Mao-suit" from chapter 424 and episode 204. Introducing Goten in a Chinese-style design may be a callback to Gohan's introductory design in chapter 195.
	Piccolo quickly flies by. His design remains unchanged in the time skip. It was first introduced in Dragon Ball Episode 133.
	Kuririn and Artificial Human No. 18 fly by. Both are using designs introduced in chapter 430 and episode 208, although Kuririn is wearing his training clothes, while No. 18 is wearing her tournament clothes. No. 18's outfit is a variant on what she wore when first introduced in episode 133, except she no longer wears the Red Ribbon Army jacket and her slacks are now blue.
	After swinging back in to Trunks for a peace sign, Vegeta soars in to dominate the frame. He is wearing his Cell Arc version of his body armor (with the yellow shoulder straps and no shoulder pads), first seen in chapter 342. All other characters in this scene have their Boo Arc designs.
	The Dragon Ball Z title card appears, nearly identical to the ones used previously in the series. Like that title card, it continues to use the dragon illustration from the cover to Dragon Ball Chapter 1.
	The next sequence in the opening depicts flashbacks to events in the previous arcs. First, Son Goku as a Super Saiyan fires a kamehameha blast. This may be intended to resemble his "full power" kamehameha during the Cell Games (chapter 401), but that blast was only primed from midair and not fired. Goku is wearing his kanji-less gi first introduced after the time skip at the end of chapter 336.
	Vegeta, as a Super Saiyan, launches a punch. While this could be referencing several fights in the series, it most closely resembles a panel during Vegeta's battle against Artificial Human No. 19 during chapter 344. He is wearing the same outfit as above.
	Future Trunks slashes an unseen assailant with his sword. Although the angle is different, this may be an homage to Trunk's battle against Freeza at the beginning of his time in the present. He's wearing his Capsule Corp jacket and outfit from his introduction in chapter 330.
	Piccolo launches a punch. It is not clear which battle this moment may be paying homage to.
	Gohan screams as he is about to become Super Saiyan 2 for the very first time, as seen in chapter 388. This view may pay homage to the image of Gohan on the title page to Dragon Ball Chapter 405 or similar scenes during chapter 407 / episode 185.
	A darkened sky clears and Son Gohan as a teen looks towards the camera. He is dressed as before in his Orange Star High School uniform. The darkened sky may imply a wish on the Dragon Balls, but neither they nor Shenlong are present in this scene.
	Gohan transforms into the Great Saiyaman (first seen in chapter 423), but wearing his tournament disguise rather than his "crime fighting" costume first seen in chapter 426. The following reflections in his glasses homage the title page to Dragon Ball Chapter 410 which similarly shows Son Gohan's development.
	A series of reflections are shown in elder Gohan's glasses reflecting his development over the course of the series. The first reflection is Gohan as he appeared in chapter 196, his introduction in the series. He's wearing the 4-star Dragon Ball. The front of Gohan's outfit shows the kanji 孫 (son) representing his family name. This image is not taken from the series, but rather the title page to Dragon Ball Chapter 197.
	The second reflection is of Gohan on Namek, wearing the battle jacket that he obtained in chapter 291. This image is adapted from the cover page to Dragon Ball Chapter 290, but Gohan is depicted as smiling.
	The third reflection is of Gohan as a Super Saiyan during the Cell Games. Gohan first became a Super Saiyan in chapter 381. In this image, Gohan wears his Piccolo-style gi without the shoulder pads. He wore that specific outfit starting in chapter 403, when he stepped into the ring to face Cell.	(Image from ch 403)
	Gohan rides on a bicycle down a suburban street before taking flight. This is the same bike that Son Goku rides on the cover of Dragon Ball Tankōbon Volume 34.
	Son Gohan rides on kintoun. This view evokes the very first look at teen Gohan that we see in the series in the opening pages of chapter 421.	(Show panel from 421)
	Goten joins Gohan on kintoun. This sequence parallels a similar one in CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA with Son Goku and Gohan on the flying cloud.
	Gohan and Goten pass by a red convertible being driven by Kuririn, with Bulma and Piccolo in the car. This same car (then driven by Bulma, but joined by Chi-Chi and the Turtle Hermit, is seen in the ending theme, We Were Angels.) Bulma is wearing her green shirt and hoop earrings first seen in chapter 423 and episode 201. Kuririn's outfit cannot be seen. Goten is now wearing his kame-style gi first seen in chapter 426. The car also appears to match one in the ending of Dragon Ball Z Movie 4.

	Gohan and Videl ride in a "Mr. Satan" car laden with a surfboard. This image was adapted from a foldout calendar included in Weekly Shōnen Jump 1993, Issue #31. (This issue included Dragon Ball Chapter 429). Perhaps appropriately, the car is implied to be a Hoi-Poi Capsule #666, however this car is never seen in the anime. Videl is wearing her pink and white casual outfit seen in her introduction in chapter 421; she also still has her long hair, implying that it is early in her and Gohan's courtship. Gohan's green shirt does not appear in the series. The same car also appears in the eyecatches beginning with Dragon Ball Z Episode 200.
	Artificial Human No. 18 is at Kame House wearing a blue shirt with cutoff sleeves, matching her appearance in chapter 426.
	In the same scene, Kuririn comforts a crying Marron. Their designs also match their first post-timeskip appearances in chapter 426.
	Son Goku, North Kaiō, Bubbles, and Gregory appear on the Serpentine Road. Unique among the scenes in the opening, this appears to take place in Age 767, prior to the Afterlife Tournament, and shortly after Goku's death. (Goku and Kaiō's appearance in Dragon Ball Chapter 426 is on a planet, possibly Dai Kaiō's Planet or elsewhere in the Afterlife.)
	Trunks and Goten spar. The scene reflects both the young characters' rivalries, as well as their tournament battle beginning in chapter 433. While not an exact match, the overall spirit may be an homage to the cover art for Dragon Ball Chapter 432. Both characters are now in their tournament clothes.
	Chi-Chi and Bulma break up the fight between their kids. Chi-Chi is wearing her new outfit, introduced in chapter 424.

	The theme ends with a group shot, paralleling the one in the CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA opening. This one is based on the chapter title page for Dragon Ball Chapter 430, but widened to include Bulma, Videl, Erasa, and Sharpner. Kuririn, Artificial Human No. 18, and Vegeta are now in their tournament clothes, while all others remain as they appeared earlier in the opening.
