Synopsis

The years have passed since the battle with Cell, and Gohan, now a high school student, begins commuting to a high school in the city. But he comes across a bank robbery in the city, and takes care of the robbers after becoming Super Saiyan. His Super Saiyan form becomes known as the "Golden-Haired Warrior" and rumors spread. Attending school, Gohan becomes classmates with Mister Satan's daughter, Videl. Gohan tries to be inconspicuous in order to hide his true identity, but he stands out in gym class, and instead becomes the center of attention.

Summary

Prologue

Several years have passed since Cell was destroyed by Son Gohan at the Cell Games. The world was peaceful once again, but there are always foolish people... A group of gunman storm the Satancity Bank and terrorize the staff and customers.

Some distance away, Son Gohan, now a teenager, rides on Kintoun. He had been home-schooling because there were no schools nearby, but Chi-Chi wanted him to attend high school in the city. As he approaches the edge of Satan City, Gohan leaps off of Kintoun and prepares to walk the rest of the way. He explains to himself that as the world believes that Mister Satan was the savior of the Earth, they renamed the city where he lived in his honor.

Part A

Still at the bank, the robbers demand that the tellers hand over their money. Once they have it all, they announce that they will be back and shoot up the place.

A short distance away, Gohan looks at his watch: 8:12. He's about to be late. He looks around to see if anyone is watching, then sprints at super speed towards school. Along the way, he passes by the bank with the robbers still outside shooting. They have the police pinned down and are about to escape. Gohan sighs, "Not again." He transforms into a Super Saiyan so as not to be recognized and heads into the fray. With just a few blows, he knocks out the robbers one by one. When one shoots a machine gun at him, Gohan effortlessly catches all of the bullets. The remaining robbers try to speed away, but a single kiai shout flips their truck.

While everyone is distracted, Gohan powers down and acts like an innocent bystander. Videl appears behind him suddenly. Looking at the battle scene, she asks Gohan if he saw who did it. Gohan claims that he didn't see. Videl is disappointed, but a bystander tells her that the "Golden Warrior" defeated the robbers. He noticed that the warrior wore an Orange Star High School badge, just like Videl. She thinks, but she does not know anyone with gold-colored hair in her school.

At the school, Videl interrogates Shapner, a blond-haired boy, to see if he is the Golden Warrior. Class begins and the teacher introduces a new student; it's Gohan! Videl is intrigued and realizes that he is the boy that she saw that morning. Erasa invites Gohan over to sit near her and Videl.

Part B

As class begins, Erasa introduces herself and Videl to Gohan. Videl stares at Gohan intently, but Erasa continues talking. She reveals that Videl is Mister Satan's daughter. Videl finally realizes that Gohan was the boy that she saw at the robbery. As Erasa continues to talk about the "Golden Warrior", Gohan realizes that he's being caught and will need to be more careful. Videl just keeps staring at him. Videl reveals that the "Golden Warrior" was wearing a school badge as well as clothes just like Gohan's! Shapner points out that Gohan is too scrawny to be a warrior, plus his hair is the wrong color. Videl recalls that she saw warriors whose hair turned golden from a video of the Cell Games. Gohan continues chatting with Erasa, accidentally admitting that he lives 1000 km away. She is shocked as it would take five hours to commute that far, even on a jet flyer. Videl grows even more suspicious.

Gohan, with some prodding from Erasa, is called on to translate a text about Mister Satan for the class. He reads that the city used to be called "Orange Star City", that Mister Satan moved there after winning at the 24th Tenka'ichi Budōkai. (Across town, Mister Satan sneezes.)

A bit later, the class is outside for phys. ed. and they are about to play baseball. Shapner teases Gohan and insists that he be on Videl's team, which she begrudgingly accepts. (Back at home, Chi-Chi wonders how Gohan is doing at school.)

As the baseball game enters its third inning, the score is tied 0-0. Gohan thinks to himself that he needs to play sloppily as both his mother and Bulma warned him against making himself too obvious. Videl is pitching against Shapner. Shapner hits the ball high and far... a home run! Except, Gohan flies up and catches it. Without thinking, he remains in the air trying to remember the rules of the game. He throws the ball to third base as gingerly as he can, but he still knocks the baseman down with the force of the throw. Gohan is proud of himself, but everyone in the game is staring at him. He just jumped eight meters! The inning changes and Gohan is up to bat with Shapner pitching. Shapner throws the pitch directly at Gohan, trying to force him to duck, but Gohan is too busy thinking about not hitting the ball to dodge. The pitch hits him square in the face, but Gohan is unfazed. He asks the ref if that is a "dead ball" and walks to first base, pleased with himself that he found a way to get there without hitting the ball.

At the end of the school day, Gohan finds himself much more popular with the other students. Shapner wants him to join the boxing club, but he begs out. He tries to make excuses for why he cannot join clubs or take Erasa home.

Outside, Videl is spying on Gohan to see how he gets home. She follows him a few blocks, but he realizes that she is behind. After turning a corner, he quickly flies onto a building so that she is unable to follow him any further. While riding Kintoun home, Gohan realizes that he will need Bulma's help to create a new disguise.
