History

DeSpo FighterZ was first announced via the official Dragon Ball video-game Twitter account in July 2018, scheduled to be published in the September issue of of Saikyō Jump the same year (release date August 3).[1] The manga's publication coincided with the release of Dragon Ball FighterZ for the Nintendo Switch. Author Hiroshi Otoki had previously contributed Dragon Ball Fusions the MANGA!!, concluding in the May 2018 issue.

Supporting characters

  • Judge Man: A mysterious man sporting the kanji for "judge" on his forehead, Judge Man appears wherever eSports are played, and quietly disappears once the match is over. He acts as referee and is the sole possessor of the eSports Projector, a device capable of projecting a holographic display of eSports matches into the air.[2]
  • Murakumo: A pro-gamer who loses a publicly broadcast match against Shindo.
