Brief description. |
Saibaiman Set (栽培マンセット)
A bio-weapon developed by the Saiyans. To extract the location of the Dragon Balls from Piccolo and the others, Vegeta and Nappa use this item and create six Saibaimen. One set consists of seeds and growth fluid. By planting a seed in the soil and dribbling growth fluid over it, the strange form of a Saibaiman will emerge after a few seconds. A Saibaiman's greatest feature is that its battle power depends on the condition of the soil. By way of Earth's fertile soil, a Saibaiman will be born possessing a mid-grade battle power as high as 1,200, or that of a low-ranking warrior. Though a Saibaiman itself is unable to speak, it possesses the intelligence required to understand orders.[13] |

Team Bardock's Suits (バーダックチームのスーツ) Debut: Dragon Ball Z TV Special 1 Brief description.
Old-Style Combat Jacket, Version 2 (旧式戦闘ジャケット(2))
An old type of special protector worn by Freeza and his men, which Vegeta only wears when no fitting newer-style combat jackets are available. This protective gear greatly reduces battle damage. At first glance, it appears hard like armor, but it is made with a special rubber and flexible enough to wear like normal clothing. It won't tear even if a Saiyan transforms into a Great Ape. Because it is made to be ultra-light, the burden placed on the wearer during battle is considerably reduced. The gloves and boots worn with the combat jacket are also made from a special rubber. Because it lacks shoulder guards, this old type has inferior defensive capabilities compared to the newer styles.[14] |

Scouters
Latest-Model Scouter (最新型スカウター)
A battle power-analysis item which Freeza and his men use. At Freeza's request, the Ginyu Special Force, who also equip this item, bring a case of them to Planet Namek. This latest model of scouter, which converts battle powers into numbers, achieves greatly improved measurement capabilities, and has enough wiggle room to even detect battle powers of approximately 180,000. A major characteristic of this latest model is that the main unit of the device is greatly altered to feature a sharper design, coming out considerably thinner than older models. This redesign is likely intended to reduce various obstacles in battle and flight.[13] |
![]() |
New-Model Scouter (新型スカウター)
Brief description. |
Old-Model Scouter (旧型スカウター)
A battle power-analysis item which Freeza and his men use. Saiyan warriors such as Raditz, Vegeta, and Nappa use this device. This item converts an opponent's battle power into numbers, which is displayed on a screen covering the wearer's left eye. It is also capable of sensing an opponent's battle power from far away, in which case it will display their distance from the opponent in addition to their battle power. These old-model scouters have poor analytical capabilities, and will explode when a battle power with a numerical value exceeding 22,000 is sensed. To prepare for the emergence of stronger enemies, a wide-spread swap to newer models with greater analytical abilities is conducted. The anime reveals that scouters are mechanisms developed by the Tsufruians. After their extinction, Freeza and his men improve and utilize the devices.[14] In the years following Dragon Ball's serialization, Gichamu[15] and Kikono[16] have been named as the scouters' developers. |

Retooled Scouter (改造スカウター) Created By: Bulma Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 209 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX A scouter originally worn by Raditz, which Bulma modifies. This machine can detect an opponent's battle power and location. Bulma's retooled version becomes able to display readings in Earth's Roman numerals.[17]
