A weapon belonging to Bora of the Karin Holy Land. With its long handle, this spear is effective against distanced enemies and can even be thrown to inflict damage. As a means to defend against intruders, Bora uses his spear against Tao Pai-Pai but unexpectedly dies by his own weapon.[1]
Tao Pai-pai's trump card. When his special attack, Dodonpa, turns out ineffective against Goku, he hurredly pulls out this weapon. As a Seiryū Sabre-type blade, it is light with excellent sharpness and speed, and has the ability to cleave even large trees in two.[2]
Tao Pai-pai's hidden weapon, which he uses against Tenshinhan during the 23rd Tenka'ichi Budōkai. Having been turned into a cyborg, this blade is concealed as a part of Tao Pai-pai's own body. It is constructed so that, by removing his left wrist, a knife blade automatically juts out.[3]
A weapon belonging to Dabra, king of the Demon Realm, which he summons using sorcery. He stabs Majin Boo with it, but it fails to deal any damage. It is characterized by additional blades on the side which make it difficult to pull out.[4]
A deadly, military-use survival knife belonging to General Blue, chosen from among the army's supplies. Its handle is long and easy to hold. Originally, this knife was used for cutting through trees, branches, and the like. General Blue brandishes this knife against Arale in Penguin Village.[5]
Yajirobe's weapon, which he always keeps wrapped in his waistband. This sword is sharp enough to split a demon in two with one slice. Though Yajirobe usually fights bare-handed, he uses his katana as a last resort against strong enemies.[3]
Man-Wolf's concealed weapon. This army knife becomes extraordinarily compact when folded, and can be easily hidden underneath clothing. Man-Wolf uses this knife against Jackie Chun during the 22nd Tenka'ichi Budōkai. [6]
Murasaki's favorite weapon. At first glance, it is an ordinary Japanese sword, but with the title of a "Legendary Blade," it must have been crafted by a renowned swordsmith. It quickly snaps in two when facing off against Goku'sNyoi-Bō.[7]
The Ox Demon King's own gigantic axe. He throws it at Bulma while she is investigating the state of his castle. It wields enough destructive power to effortlessly chop stone. When Bulma first encounters the Ox Demon King, his custom axe is more than twice the size of her face.[8]
A sword originating from the ancient Orient, which the bear bandit and Yamcha early on use to attack Goku and others. Though the sword's wide blade leaves an impression of heft, it is actually easy to wield and can be swung around with incredible speed.[9]
A sword given to Gohan by Piccolo, which he uses to defend himself and procure food while training in the wilderness. This sword is as long as Gohan as a child is tall. Its thick and massive blade makes it easy to slice through even the tail of a dinosaur.[10]
A large, western-style sword belonging to Trunks, who usually keeps it in a specially-made sheath worn on his back. When wielded with both hands, its true power is unleashed. Though it looks like a regular sword, it has been well-polished to the extent that it can slice Freeza right in half and chop his mechanical body into pieces. It appears to have been refined by special technology from the future, but remains ineffective against Artificial Human No. 18, who damages it. Dragon Ball Z's thirteenth movie, Dragon Fist Explosion!! If Goku Won’t Do it, Who Will?, depicts the moment when Trunks receives his sword from Tapion.[12]
Upa's weapon while living in the Karin Holy Land. He throws this hatchet at his father's adversary, Tao Pai-pai. It is a tool used for logging wood and rough cutting, but can also be used to throw at and attack an opponent.[13]
A legendary sword which has lied within the ground of the Kaiōshin Realm since ancient times. Every Kaiōshin throughout history who has attempted to pull out the Z Sword has failed, and Super SaiyanGohan is unexpectedly the first one to ever pull out the sword. It is said that whoever pulls out this strongest sword can obtain tremendous power. It is extremely heavy and difficult to wield. In fact, it has no strong offensive power, and its reputation actually means that the Elder Kaiōshin sealed within the sword will offer the power-up. Naturally, it being the "strongest sword" is a mere legend. It snaps easily when tested against Katchin steel.[9]
A super-powerful bomb consisting of 13 sticks of dynamite in a bundle, which is readied by Mister Satan to assassinate Majin Boo. Though he devises a plan to use it, he never actually does. The bomb can be detonated via remote control.[4]
A game machine that Mister Satan prepares which is equipped with remote-controlled internal explosives. Falsely presented as a gift, Satan hands it to Majin Boo. The objective is to focus the opponent's attention on the game so they drop their guard as pertaining to their surroundings.[14]
A small, popular, military-use bomb that Lunch uses and throws at police officers when fleeing. By removing its pin and throwing the grenade at an enemy, it will explode after several seconds, making it an easy-to-use weapon. It is also effective as a threat.[15]
A tool which obscures an opponent's field of vision, useful when fleeing from a robbery. The robber cornered by Gohan uses it in desperation. When it hits the ground, it produces a large amount of smoke. This item is strikingly similar to the smoke ball in Master Sergeant Murasaki'sarsenal.[16]
A small light machine gun which Lunch and Bulma use regularly, often to abrupt fire against the Turtle Hermit and others. Although small, it wields the same kinds of features as larger machine guns. Naturally, it is capable of rapidly firing bullets.[17]
An alien weapon which is just a simple gun with a dial. By turning the dial, the weapon's ability changes. One of the aliens operating this weapon plans to use it in "Murder Mode", but does not fire.[10]
Ordinary pistols belonging to the police officers pursuing Lunch. An officer turns and fires at Goku, but misses. These pistols are available for issue in either automatic or revolver models.[14]
An automatic-type pistol capable of rapid-fire belonging to a robber who appears in the outskirts of Satan City. The robber aims for Videl from behind, but Great Saiyaman stops him.[17]
One of the weapons which the soldiers at the Red Ribbon Army headquarters use to intercept Goku's siege upon their base, to little effect. This powerful combat weapon can fire large missiles.[4]
A large cannon which Colonel Silver of the Red Ribbon Army frequently uses. He fires this weapon at Goku and Kinto-Un as they attempt to make off with the Dragon Balls, instantly vaporizing Kinto-Un. As a single-shot bazooka, this weapon is not equipped with rapid-fire functionality. Because it wields awesome power, if it is not supported over the shoulder and with both arms, it presents a danger to those who fire it. A major feature of this bazooka in terms of functionality is that it is equipped with a blast-proof shield, which is equipped with a high-performance aiming sensor. This high-performance sensor can display not only an aiming reticle, but an object's velocity as well.[15]
The Royal Army uses this heavy weapon to fire powerful rockets at Cell. Though its firing recoil is powerful enough to require its operator to take a squatted stance and hold the weapon with both hands, it has no effect on Cell.[18]
A large cannon that fires powerful rocket shells used to destroy patrol cars by the robber who Great Saiyaman beats up. It can cause two patrol cars to wreck with one shot.[17]
A mysterious staff passed down to Son Goku by his foster father, Son Gohan. Long ago, this staff was lent out to the Turtle Hermit by Karin, and in a roundabout way found its way to Goku. The Nyoi-Bō, usually carried on Goku's back, can freely expand and contract upon command, enabling it to attack from any distance. However, the Nyoi-Bō's original design was not that of a weapon, but rather as a means to get from Karin Tower to God's Temple in the skies above. By simply inserting the staff in the roof above Karin Tower, the staff will extend and allow travel to God's Temple, though without Karin's bell, the traveler will not meet God himself.[20]
A legendary jewel in Lucifer's possession, mistaken by the Turtle Hermit to be a woman. When bathed in the light of a full moon, it turns red and generates enough power to destroy the sun.[20]
One of Master Sergeant Murasaki's ninja tools, which he uses in his battle with Goku after falsely declaring a bare-handed match. When this bladed boomerang is thrown, it draws an arc through the air and returns with recoil. It can also confuse an opponent.[18]
One of Master Sergeant Murasaki's ninja tools, which he requires to perform the Art of Concealment. By hiding inside the rock, Murasaki can fool his opponent's eyes. Though it takes about 30 seconds to prepare the technique, once concealed it is difficult to distinguish from a real rock.[21]
One of Master Sergeant Murasaki's ninja tools, which he uses to attack Goku. This weapon is designed to deal damage to an opponent by throwing it at them. If the user is skilled, it is possible to throw shuriken in rapid succession. There are various kinds of this weapon, such as the kind with star-shaped blades or kunai.[15]
One of Master Sergeant Murasaki's ninja tools, which he uses to conceal himself from Goku. To confuse the opponent, this weapon explodes when thrown down and fills the area with smoke. This way, the user can hide from their opponent in an instant.[10]
A device developed by Bulma to forcibly transform the tailless Vegeta Baby into a Great Ape by irradiating him directly with Bruits Waves emitted by Earth (which reflects moonlight) multiplied by one thousand.[5]
A device that generates and radiates Super Bruits Waves from a single pair of emitters, which Bulma develops in order to power up Vegeta to Super Saiyan 4. This generator is smaller than the Bruits Wave Amplifier, allowing it to attach to a vehicle for mobilization.[21]
A light-purple poison gas that Doctor Raichi disperses across Earth as part of his vengeful scheme against the Saiyans. This gas gradually kills those who inhale it, and according to Bulma's calculations, it has the potential to wipe out all life on Earth just 70 days after dispersion.[23]
A robot-shaped device dispatched in by Doctor Raichi to exterminate the Saiyans and all life on Earth. It sprays Destron Gas from what could be considered its two hands, and is equipped with a barrier to block external attacks.[24]
Because Uirō's machine body holds enough super energy to easily destroy Earth itself, it is believed that his machine body is the base's energy source.[26]
A bio-weapon developed by the Saiyans. To extract the location of the Dragon Balls from Piccolo and the others, Vegeta and Nappa use this item and create six Saibaimen. One set consists of seeds and growth fluid. By planting a seed in the soil and dribbling growth fluid over it, the strange form of a Saibaiman will emerge after a few seconds. A Saibaiman's greatest feature is that its battle power depends on the condition of the soil. By way of Earth's fertile soil, a Saibaiman will be born possessing a mid-grade battle power as high as 1,200, or that of a low-ranking warrior. Though a Saibaiman itself is unable to speak, it possesses the intelligence required to understand orders.[27]
A chemical substance which Pilaf and his crew employ to make Goku and his friends fall asleep so that they can steal their Dragon Balls. It releases as a mist through the walls of the labyrinth beneath Pilaf's castle. It seems to be military-grade powerful, and can drop those who smell it into a deep sleep within mere minutes.[27]
An outfit created by Bulma based on the protection worn by Freeza and his men, which Vegeta and Trunks wear during their battle with Cell. Performance-wise, it is not much different than the combat jackets worn by Freeza's army. The use of a special rubber makes it flexible and ultra-light, making it outstanding armor that does not hinder intense movement during battle. The big visible difference between Bulma's jacket and the jackets worn by Freeza's men is the shape of the shoulders. Bulma's combat jackets get rid of the shoulder protectors, opting instead for straps in a way that is reminiscent of old-style combat jackets. This shoulder reduction is the result of a desire to make combat jackets even lighter. In the Jump Super Anime Tour 2008 animation, Vegeta arrives at the party wearing his combat jacket. Though it is clothing primarily designed for combat, Vegeta claims that combat jackets are "Saiyan formal attire".[28]
A helmet worn by Chi-Chi during her childhood, likely given to her by her father for self-defense. She uses this helmet as a weapon when attacked by dinosaurs or Yamcha. The sharp-bladed crown on the top of the helmet can be thrown at enemies as an attack, after which it will arc back around like a boomerange to be reattached to the helmet. By posing with two fingers of both hands against the helmet's center decoration and shouting, it releases a beam powerful enough to repel dinosaurs.[29]
A device that protects its wearer from sleeping gas. Shuu and Mai wear them in Pilaf's castle. Pilaf, however, forgets to wear one and collapses. This protective gear is the best option to protect oneself from poison-type gases and sleeping gas. Shuu's mask is specially sculpted to match the shape of his face.[3]
A newer style of combat jacket that Bulma creates for Vegeta before he leaves to train with Whis. This outfit's jumpsuit is grey with detailed lining, and its torso armor is more streamlined. During training, Whis uses a permanent marker to draw his mark on the outfit's left breast. Vegeta continues to wear this outfit during the confrontation with Golden Freeza and the tournament against Universe 6. Afterwards, he reverts back to wearing his previous combat jacket style. In Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Vegeta wears a modified version of this outfit that includes small waist protectors attached to the sides of the torso armor and a Capsule Corporation logo on left breast.
A protective battle outfit boasting high-level defensive capabilities worn by the many warriors in Freeza's army, such as Vegeta, Raditz, Zarbon, and others. It also serves as an army uniform. Though it appears stiff, it is actually quite flexible due to its special rubber. Saiyans may also transform into giant monkeys without it tearing, allowing for smooth movements even with intense actions that occur in battle. It is also ultra-light, and designed to be as unobtrusive as possible in battle. This outfit includes boots and gloves, which are also made of the same special rubber. An optional waist protector can also be attached.[28]
A combat jacket variant worn by the Ginyu Special Force, King Cold, and some of his soldiers. Performance-wise, it does not differentiate from the normal version of the combat jacket.[30]
A type of battle-ready protective headwear with a removable face mask worn by the lower ranking combatants of Freeza'sorganization. Some models of these helmets have integrated scouters.[31]
An old style of battle protector worn by Freeza and his men. Bardock wore this equipment when Freeza attacked Planet Vegeta. Because it uses a special rubber, it is ultra-light and has excellent flexibility.[32]
Combat outfits worn by Team Bardock that resemble the older combat jackets of Freeza'sorganization. The five members of Bardock's team all have different shoulder pad and waist guard design configurations for their outfits.[33]
An old type of special protector worn by Freeza and his men, which Vegeta only wears when no fitting newer-style combat jackets are available. This protective gear greatly reduces battle damage. At first glance, it appears hard like armor, but it is made with a special rubber and flexible enough to wear like normal clothing. It won't tear even if a Saiyan transforms into a Great Ape. Because it is made to be ultra-light, the burden placed on the wearer during battle is considerably reduced. The gloves and boots worn with the combat jacket are also made from a special rubber. Because it lacks shoulder guards, this old type has inferior defensive capabilities compared to the newer styles.[32]
Scouters are battle power analyzers worn by Freeza and his men. This item converts an opponent's battle power into numbers, which is displayed on a screen covering the wearer's left eye. It is also capable of sensing an opponent's battle power from far away, in which case it will display their distance from the opponent in addition to their battle power. Over the course of the series, multiple different models of scouter are featured, all of which maintain this same base functionality.
Saiyan warriors such as Raditz, Vegeta, and Nappa use this device. These old-model scouters have poor analytical capabilities, and will explode when a battle power with a numerical value exceeding 22,000 is sensed. To prepare for the emergence of stronger enemies, a wide-spread swap to newer models with greater analytical abilities is conducted. The anime reveals that scouters are mechanisms developed by the Tsufruians. After their extinction, Freeza and his men improve and utilize the devices.[32] In the years following Dragon Ball's serialization, Gichamu[34] and Kikono[35] have been named as the scouters' developers.
A scouter originally worn by Raditz, which Bulma modifies. This machine can detect an opponent's battle power and location. Bulma's retooled version becomes able to display readings in Earth'sArabic numerals.[36]
Dodoria, Zarbon, and others wear this ubiquitous model in battle on Planet Namek. This newer model is visually identical to the older model, but it has been powered up to be able to detect battle powers beyond 22,000. However, if it receives a battle power beyond its analytical capabilities, it will still explode.[15]
At Freeza's request, the Ginyu Special Force, who also utilize this model, bring a case of this model to Planet Namek. This latest model of scouter achieves greatly improved measurement capabilities, and has enough wiggle room to even detect battle powers of approximately 180,000. A major characteristic of this latest model is that the main unit of the device is greatly altered to feature a sharper design, coming out considerably thinner than older models. This redesign is likely intended to reduce various obstacles in battle and flight.[27]
