Tao Pai-pai's hidden weapon, which he uses against Tenshinhan during the 23rd Tenka'ichi Budōkai. Having been turned into a cyborg, this blade is concealed as a part of Tao Pai-pai's own body. It is constructed so that, by removing his left wrist, a knife blade automatically juts out.[3]

Katana (刀)
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 138 / Dragon Ball Episode XX

Yajirobe's weapon, which he always keeps wrapped in his waistband. This sword is sharp enough to split a demon in two with one slice. Though Yajirobe usually fights bare-handed, he uses his katana as a last resort against strong enemies.[3]

The Legendary Blade "Sasanishiki" (名刀笹錦)
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 61 / Dragon Ball Episode XX

Ox Demon King's Battle Axe (牛魔王の戦斧)
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 11 / Dragon Ball Episode XX

The Ox Demon King's own gigantic axe. He throws it at Bulma while she is investigating the state of his castle. It wields enough destructive power to effortlessly chop stone. When Bulma first encounters the Ox Demon King, his custom axe is more than twice the size of her face.[8]

Seiryū Sabre (青竜刀)
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 3 / Dragon Ball Episode XX

A sword originating from the ancient Orient, which the bear bandit and Yamcha early on use to attack Goku and others. Though the sword's wide blade leaves an impression of heft, it is actually easy to wield and can be swung around with incredible speed.[9]

Sword (剣)
Created By: Piccolo
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 208 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

A sword given to Gohan by Piccolo, which he uses to defend himself and procure food while training in the wilderness. This sword is as long as Gohan as a child is tall. Its thick and massive blade makes it easy to slice through even the tail of a dinosaur.[10]

Tapion's Sword (タピオンの剣)

Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 331 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

A large, western-style sword belonging to Trunks, who usually keeps it in a specially-made sheath worn on his back. When wielded with both hands, its true power is unleashed. Though it looks like a regular sword, it has been well-polished to the extent that it can slice Freeza right in half and chop his mechanical body into pieces. It appears to have been refined by special technology from the future, but remains ineffective against Artificial Human No. 18, who damages it. Dragon Ball Z's thirteenth movie, Dragon Fist Explosion!! If Goku Won’t Do it, Who Will?, depicts the moment when Trunks receives his sword from Tapion.[12]

A legendary sword which has lied within the ground of the Kaiōshin Realm since ancient times. Every Kaiōshin throughout history who has attempted to pull out the Z Sword has failed, and Super Saiyan Gohan is unexpectedly the first one to ever pull out the sword. It is said that whoever pulls out this strongest sword can obtain tremendous power. It is extremely heavy and difficult to wield. In fact, it has no strong offensive power, and its reputation actually means that the Elder Kaiōshin sealed within the sword will offer the power-up. Naturally, it being the "strongest sword" is a mere legend. It snaps easily when tested against Katchin steel.[9]

As a single-shot bazooka, this weapon is not equipped with rapid-fire functionality. Because it wields awesome power, if it is not supported over the shoulder and with both arms, it presents a danger to those who fire it. A major feature of this bazooka in terms of functionality is that it is equipped with a blast-proof shield, which is equipped with a high-performance aiming sensor. A mysterious staff passed down to Son Goku by his foster father, Son Gohan. Long ago, this staff was lent out to the Turtle Hermit by Karin, and in a roundabout way found its way to Goku. The Nyoi-Bō, usually carried on Goku's back, can freely expand and contract upon command, enabling it to attack from any distance. However, the Nyoi-Bō's original design was not that of a weapon, but rather as a means to get from Karin Tower to God's Temple in the skies above. By simply inserting the staff in the roof above Karin Tower, the staff will extend and allow travel to God's Temple, though without Karin's bell, the traveler will not meet God himself.[20]

Sleeping Princess (ねむり姫)

A light-purple poison gas that Doctor Raichi disperses across Earth as part of his vengeful scheme against the Saiyans. This gas gradually kills those who inhale it, and according to Bulma's calculations, it has the potential to wipe out all life on Earth just 70 days after dispersion.[23]

One set consists of seeds and growth fluid. By planting a seed in the soil and dribbling growth fluid over it, the strange form of a Saibaiman will emerge after a few seconds. A Saibaiman's greatest feature is that its battle power depends on the condition of the soil. By way of Earth's fertile soil, a Saibaiman will be born possessing a mid-grade battle power as high as 1,200, or that of a low-ranking warrior. Though a Saibaiman itself is unable to speak, it possesses the intelligence required to understand orders.[27]

Wearables

Bulma-Style Combat Jacket (戦闘ジャケット(ブルマ製))
Created By: Bulma
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 337 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

An outfit created by Bulma based on the protection worn by Freeza and his men, which Vegeta and Trunks wear during their battle with Cell. Performance-wise, it is not much different than the combat jackets worn by Freeza's army. The use of a special rubber makes it flexible and ultra-light, making it outstanding armor that does not hinder intense movement during battle. The big visible difference between Bulma's jacket and the jackets worn by Freeza's men is the shape of the shoulders. Bulma's combat jackets get rid of the shoulder protectors, opting instead for straps in a way that is reminiscent of old-style combat jackets. This shoulder reduction is the result of a desire to make combat jackets even lighter. In the Jump Super Anime Tour 2008 animation, Vegeta arrives at the party wearing his combat jacket. Though it is clothing primarily designed for combat, Vegeta claims that combat jackets are "Saiyan formal attire".[28]

Chi-Chi's Helmet (ヘルメット(1))
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 11 / Dragon Ball Episode XX

A helmet worn by Chi-Chi during her childhood, likely given to her by her father for self-defense. She uses this helmet as a weapon when attacked by dinosaurs or Yamcha. The sharp-bladed crown on the top of the helmet can be thrown at enemies as an attack, after which it will arc back around like a boomerange to be reattached to the helmet. By posing with two fingers of both hands against the helmet's center decoration and shouting, it releases a beam powerful enough to repel dinosaurs.[29]

Coola Armored Force's Combat Suit (クウラ機甲戦隊の戦闘スーツ)
Debut: Dragon Ball Z Movie 5

A suit worn by the the Coola Armored Force, which appears to be from the same line as the Ginyu Special Force's outfits. It has a shoulder guard on the left side only.[8]

Gas Mask (ガスマスク)
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 19 / Dragon Ball Episode XX

A device that protects its wearer from sleeping gas. Shuu and Mai wear them in Pilaf's castle. Pilaf, however, forgets to wear one and collapses. This protective gear is the best option to protect oneself from poison-type gases and sleeping gas. Shuu's mask is specially sculpted to match the shape of his face.[3]

Whis Symbol Battle Suit (---)
Created By: Bulma
Debut: Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'

A newer style of combat jacket that Bulma creates for Vegeta before he leaves to train with Whis. This outfit's jumpsuit is grey with detailed lining, and its torso armor is more streamlined. During training, Whis uses a permanent marker to draw his mark on the outfit's left breast. Vegeta continues to wear this outfit during the confrontation with Golden Freeza and the tournament against Universe 6. Afterwards, he reverts back to wearing his previous combat jacket style. In Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Vegeta wears a modified version of this outfit that includes small waist protectors attached to the sides of the torso armor and a Capsule Corporation logo on left breast.

Freeza Army Uniforms

Combat Jacket (戦闘ジャケット)
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 195 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

A protective battle outfit boasting high-level defensive capabilities worn by the many warriors in Freeza's army, such as Vegeta, Raditz, Zarbon, and others. It also serves as an army uniform. Though it appears stiff, it is actually quite flexible due to its special rubber. Saiyans may also transform into giant monkeys without it tearing, allowing for smooth movements even with intense actions that occur in battle. It is also ultra-light, and designed to be as unobtrusive as possible in battle. This outfit includes boots and gloves, which are also made of the same special rubber. An optional waist protector can also be attached.[28]

V-Neck Combat Jacket (Vネック戦闘ジャケット)
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 272 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

A combat jacket variant worn by the Ginyu Special Force, King Cold, and some of his soldiers. Performance-wise, it does not differentiate from the normal version of the combat jacket.[30]

Freeza Army Helmet (ヘルメット(2))
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 246 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

A type of battle-ready protective headwear with a removable face mask worn by the lower ranking combatants of Freeza's organization. Some models of these helmets have integrated scouters.[31]

Old-Style Combat Jacket, Version 1 (旧式戦闘ジャケット(1))
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 307 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

An old style of battle protector worn by Freeza and his men. Bardock wore this equipment when Freeza attacked Planet Vegeta. Because it uses a special rubber, it is ultra-light and has excellent flexibility.[32]

Team Bardock's Suits (バーダックチームのスーツ)
Debut: Dragon Ball Z TV Special 1

Combat outfits worn by Team Bardock that resemble the older combat jackets of Freeza's organization. The five members of Bardock's team all have different shoulder pad and waist guard design configurations for their outfits.[33]

Old-Style Combat Jacket, Version 2 (旧式戦闘ジャケット(2))
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 287 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

An old type of special protector worn by Freeza and his men, which Vegeta only wears when no fitting newer-style combat jackets are available. This protective gear greatly reduces battle damage. At first glance, it appears hard like armor, but it is made with a special rubber and flexible enough to wear like normal clothing. It won't tear even if a Saiyan transforms into a Great Ape. Because it is made to be ultra-light, the burden placed on the wearer during battle is considerably reduced. The gloves and boots worn with the combat jacket are also made from a special rubber. Because it lacks shoulder guards, this old type has inferior defensive capabilities compared to the newer styles.[32]

Scouters

Scouters are battle power analyzers worn by Freeza and his men. This item converts an opponent's battle power into numbers, which is displayed on a screen covering the wearer's left eye. It is also capable of sensing an opponent's battle power from far away, in which case it will display their distance from the opponent in addition to their battle power. Over the course of the series, multiple different models of scouter are featured, all of which maintain this same base functionality.

Old-Model Scouter (旧型スカウター)
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 195 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

Saiyan warriors such as Raditz, Vegeta, and Nappa use this device. These old-model scouters have poor analytical capabilities, and will explode when a battle power with a numerical value exceeding 22,000 is sensed. To prepare for the emergence of stronger enemies, a wide-spread swap to newer models with greater analytical abilities is conducted. The anime reveals that scouters are mechanisms developed by the Tsufruians. After their extinction, Freeza and his men improve and utilize the devices.[32] In the years following Dragon Ball's serialization, Gichamu[34] and Kikono[35] have been named as the scouters' developers.

Retooled Scouter (改造スカウター)
Created By: Bulma
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 209 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

A scouter originally worn by Raditz, which Bulma modifies. This machine can detect an opponent's battle power and location. Bulma's retooled version becomes able to display readings in Earth's Arabic numerals.[36]

New-Model Scouter (新型スカウター)
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 247 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

Dodoria, Zarbon, and others wear this ubiquitous model in battle on Planet Namek. This newer model is visually identical to the older model, but it has been powered up to be able to detect battle powers beyond 22,000. However, if it receives a battle power beyond its analytical capabilities, it will still explode.[15]

Latest-Model Scouter (最新型スカウター)
Debut: Dragon Ball Chapter 272 / Dragon Ball Z Episode XX

At Freeza's request, the Ginyu Special Force, who also utilize this model, bring a case of this model to Planet Namek. This latest model of scouter achieves greatly improved measurement capabilities, and has enough wiggle room to even detect battle powers of approximately 180,000. A major characteristic of this latest model is that the main unit of the device is greatly altered to feature a sharper design, coming out considerably thinner than older models. This redesign is likely intended to reduce various obstacles in battle and flight.[27]
