B2-A is the official catalogue number of a piece of background music (BGM) arranged by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball anime in 1986. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 2 which was broadcast on 05 March 1986.
Overview
B2-A is a Kikuchi arrangement of the ending song "Romantic Ageru Yo" composed by Takeshi Ike. The full composition is part b of the suite entitled "Sexy Gal Bulma", which is track #04 on both the Ongakushū record and disc #2 of the Daizenshuu.
B2-A is given the title "Bulma Is Happy" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions. The piece was assigned the Kanzenshuu catalogue number of K-26 based on its placement in the series.
Form and Analysis
B2-A directly adapts one verse of "Romantic Ageru Yo" and the first part of bridge section that leads to the chorus.
| Part | Bars | Details |
|---|---|---|
| A1 | 8 | verse part 1; antecedent phrase (I—) + consequent phrase (ii-V) |
| A2 | 8 | verse part 2; antecedent (I—) + consequent (ii-V-I) |
| B | 8 | bridge (V/vi-vi, V/V-V) |
The piece ends on the dominant, just before the original song changes to a V+ chord that leads into the next part of the bridge.
