Dragon Ball Part 3 No. 13 is the fortieth issue of Viz's Dragon Ball Monthly Comics, the original English-language printing of the Dragon Ball manga. It was released in June 2001 alongside the fortieth issue of the "Dragon Ball Z"-branded chapters. All pages in this issue were originally printed in black and white.

The title page for chapter 79 appears on page 1 in its original black and white, with a pattered background added by Viz. The title page for chapter 80 appears on page 17 in its original black and white.
Page 12 is an interstitial page that appears in this spot in Dragon Ball Volume 7. The Turtle Hermit is driving a car with his hand stretched out the window. Behind him, a dismayed woman in a tennis uniform has dropped her racket to reach behind her where she had just been groped.
Cover Illustration
This issue's Akira Toriyama cover illustration was drawn for the title page of Dragon Ball Chapter 81. This chapter appeared in the 1986 #31 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump, which went on sale on 01 July 1986 in Japan. The illustration gets a half-page reproduction in Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 1 ("The Complete Illustrations")[1] and a small reproduction in Dragon Ball Chōgashū ("A Visual History").[2]

The inside of the back cover is an advertisement for Pokémon movie comics.
The back cover is a full-color advertisement for various Pioneer releases featuring Cardcaptor Sakura. This ad is reproduced on the page for "Dragon Ball Z" Part 3-10.
