Cover Illustration
This issue's Akira Toriyama cover illustration was drawn for the cover of the 1990 #18 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump. This issue featured Dragon Ball Chapter 269 and went on sale on 26 February 1991 in Japan. The Weekly Jump cover gets a half-page reprint in the 30th Anniversary Super History Book,[1] and the illustration itself gets full-page reproductions in Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 1 ("The Complete Illustrations")[2] and Dragon Ball Chōgashū ("A Visual History").[3] In both of these reproductions, Goku's hand extends across the spine to the opposite page.
Advertisements
Page 32 is an advertisement for "Dragon Ball Z Specialty Store" at www.japanimation.com. This ad is reproduced on the sixth issue's page.
The inside of the back cover is an advertisement for Viz's "Shop-By-Mail" service, with an extensive list of available titles. Battle Angel Alita encourages readers to visit Viz's online store at j-pop.com.
The back cover is a full-color advertisement for the Pioneer releases of Tenchi in Tokyo, Battle Athletes Victory, Ranma ½, Magical Project S, Phantom Quest Corp, Tenchi Universe, Video Girl Ai, and The Mysterious Play/Fushigi Yugi. This advertisement is reproduced on the sixteenth "Dragon Ball" issue's page.
