K-302 is the Kanzenshuu catalogue number assigned to an unreleased piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball anime in 1987. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 47 which was broadcast on 21 January 1987.
Overview
K-302 is a variation on the Red Ribbon Army theme introduced in M108. It is given the title "Angry Blue" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions.
Compositional Analysis
The form of K-302 is AABB'A'. The A section is based on the low guitar melody in M108, which is itself loosely based on the low guitar melody in the James Bond Theme. A2 is distinguished by an upward melodic turn at the end. The main melody of M108 is played by the guitar in the B section, a call and response where the response is played by the flute.
A1: 8 bars (i-V)
A2: 8 bars (i-V)
B1: 8 (i-V-i-V-i-V-V/V-V)
B': 8 (i-iv-i-V/V-V)
A': 6 (i)
A' consists of 4 bars with a reference to the melody of A, followed by a simple ending on C (2 bars).
For the purposes of this analysis, the bass beats are considered to be on beats 1 and 3, so every two bass beats is one bar.
