M109 is the Kanzenshuu catalogue number assigned to an unreleased piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball anime in 1986. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 31 which was broadcast on 24 September 1986.
Overview
M109 is part a of the suite entitled "T'ao Pai-pai, Assassin-for-Hire", which is track #18 on disc #2 of the Daizenshuu. There are only two BGM in this suite, and while the descending chromatic line at the beginning of the violin melody constitutes a connection to Tao Pai-Pai's theme as introduced in M309 (the other BGM in the suite), M109 was never once used in connection with Tao in the anime, as demonstrated in the usage table below.
M109 is given the title "Goku And Chichi To The Rescue" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions. The piece was assigned the Kanzenshuu catalogue number of K-137 based on its placement in the series.
