Sam Sam is a fictional restaurant in the world of Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama. It appeared only once, in Dragon Ball Z Episode 146 written by Aya Matsui.
General Overview
Sam Sam is a restaurant on Cell's path of destruction, possibly in Nicky Town or Basil Town. During Age 767, it was attacked by Cell as he sought power to confront the other Artificial Humans, apparently killing all of the patrons.[1] They were likely revived later in the year after the people killed by Cell were revived by the dragon balls.[2]
Name
The name "Sam Sam" is only depicted in Latin characters, written in cursive. A Japanese form is never provided in dialog in the series. As the areas attacked by Cell in this portion of the anime are named based on herbs and spices (e.g. Ginger Town, Nicky Town, and Basil Airport), the name may be a reference to sansam (Korean: 산삼), a variety of ginseng found in Korea and China.
