Beerus's planet is the home of Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe 7, and his guide angel, Whis. The planet first appears in the theatrical film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, which premiered 30 March 2013 in Japan. The planet makes subsequent appearances in the Dragon Ball Super series and various video games.

In Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, some of the background and building designs feature a snake or lizard aesthetic. Prior to Akira Toriyama revising a significant amount of the film's script and character designs, Beerus was slated to be a lizard that had originally infected the Saiyans with evil.
