Esca attempts to hide from Moro in Dragon Ball Super manga chapter 44

As Moro invades Planet Namek, Esca attempts to hide inside a home. Moro uses his magical/psychokinesis powers to pull Esca out and begins draining his energy; elsewhere, Namekians notice that Esca is nowhere to be found. Vegeta jumps in, kicking Moro's arm to save Esca, reflecting on his own "troubled history" with the Namekians. Esca departs with the elder as Vegeta takes on Moro.[1]

After Moro defeats both Son Goku and Vegeta and departs, the elder Namekian rushes in with Esca to save them, noting that they are in fact still alive. Back in a cave-dwelling, Esca has used his healing powers — which he admits are not as potent as Dende's — to help Goku and Vegeta, who awaken three days later.[2]

Name

Esca's name is likely taken from "Escgargot", the French word for "snail"; this is the same source as Cargo's name.
