Summary
As Goku recoils from his close encounter with Moro, Vegeta asks him what is wrong, and whether he found Moro's ki. When Goku does not answer, he says he will try, but Goku stops him, telling him that Moro could sense that he was searching for him. Vegeta is shaken, and asks Goku how that is possible, but Goku does not know; he has never felt anything like it before. Vegeta asks him what else he could sense, whether his ki was impressive, and Goku says not exactly. Vegeta asks if it is like divine ki, but Goku says no; it was not that big, but it was terrifying, as if a large number of people were screaming in pain. Jaco finds this description to be creepy, but Merusu explains that Moro absorbs the life force of planets and turns it into his own power, so in that sense, his power really is a collective of screaming souls. This also explains how he has lived for so long. Goku asks how many people he has killed, and Merusu tells him countless planets' worth.
Elsewhere in space, a man pilots a ship with Moro on board. Noticing Moro stir, he asks what is going on. Moro tells him that someone is looking for him. The pilot wonders if the Galactic Patrol has found them already. Moro casts around and realized that while he was imprisoned, life has proliferated throughout the universe. The pilot reminds him that he was imprisoned for ten million years. Moro makes a sound of pain, and the pilot asks him if he is okay; Moro says that just scanning has taken him to his limit; his magical abilities are in a pathetic state. The pilot assures him that they will arrive at their destination soon. Moro says he cannot wait, so the pilot fearfully assures him that he will go faster.
Back on the Galactic Patrol ship, Jaco asks where Moro is going; there are no planets with life in that direction. But Goku realizes he has been that way before, when he went to see Dende. Vegeta realizes Moro is headed to New Namek. Jaco demands they explain; he thought the Namekians were wiped out when Planet Namek was destroyed, but Goku tells him they saved all the Namekians, and they chose a remote planet for their own safety. Merusu thinks that Moro is probably capable of sensing planets with life, and he says that if the Namekians are truly alive, then Moro might be after...
Just then, Pastar interrupts to tell them that he heard there were some wish-granting balls on Namek. Everyone is alarmed to hear this, and Jaco demands to know how he heard about the Dragon Balls. Pastar explains that one of his fellow inmates at the Galactic Prison was a deserter from Freeza's army, and he told Pastar that Freeza himself went after the Dragon Balls on Planet Namek. Vegeta is not pleased to hear that Freeza' dregs are telling tales and causing problems. Pastar says that he did not think anything of the tale since he figured it was a tall one, but their reaction confirms it was true. Jaco regrets this mistake, and Goku seems displeased, but Pastar goes on: the Freeza deserter was looking for someone strong to help him go after the Dragon Balls, and it looks like he ended up with the strongest in the whole prison. Jaco thinks this is bad. Vegeta asks if this means Moro is after the Namekian Dragon Balls. Merusu thinks this is probably the case, and Goku wonders what Moro would wish for. Pastar says he would wish for the Galactic Patrol to be destroyed, and that ten million years is a long time to nurse a grudge. Jaco is not amused, and he closes the Macareni Gang's cage with a screen, telling them that they are going back to prison and that they will lose the key. Merusu admits that the situation is worse than they anticipated.
Moro tells his pilot that he was fortunate to regain a tiny bit of his magic before his life ended. The pilot remembers that it happened a few years past; Moro says that is what allowed him to break free. The pilot thanks him for breaking him out too, and Moro glares at him. The pilot nervously expresses his appreciation again, but Moro tells him he still needs to see if his tale is true, and the pilot says he understands. Moro asks if the Dragon Balls are really that powerful, and the pilot promises they will grant any wish he can think of...three wishes, in fact. The pilot reminds Moro that he promised to give him one of the wishes so that he can escape to a planet where the Galactic Patrol and Freeza's army can never find him. Moro reaffirms his promise, assuring the pilot that he only needs one wish, and that once it is fulfilled, he will no longer require the pilot's services. The pilot thanks him again, relieved.
On New Planet Namek, Muri and two children pray before the One-Star Dragon Ball. Muri says that they can only live in peace thanks to the protection of the gods, and teaches them that they must always remember to be grateful. Their peace must be guarded at all costs. He takes them outside where some of the adult villagers are playing games, and tells them to go play. They decide to play hide-and-seek. Just then, one of the villagers notices a ship approaching, and calls Muri's attention to it.
Meanwhile, back on the Galactic Patrol ship, Goku asks what they should do; Moro will arrive on New Namek any moment now. Vegeta says they cannot wait for Majin Boo to wake up, and Goku says Moro will already ben expecting him. They should go right now. Vegeta agrees; he wants to get a look at Moro with his own eyes. Merusu wonders aloud how they intend to just go; even in this spaceship, they could not possibly hope to arrive before Moro... Holding Vegeta's hand, Goku explains that he can teleport. Then they disappear. Merusu panics; confronting Moro right now is too dangerous!
Goku and Vegeta arrive on New Namek, and Muri asks who they are. Goku reminds him, and Muri says it is good to see him. Vegeta tells Goku to look; Moro is already here. Goku asks Muri what is going on. Moro tells his pilot that the person who was searching for him earlier has arrived. Moro does not know how, but assumes he has come to apprehend him. The pilot thinks the Galactic Patrol must not value their lives if they are that anxious to confront Moro, but Moro is hungry for Goku's tremendous energy.
Muri is distressed to learn that they are being visited by a dangerous prison escapee. Goku tells him to gather the Dragon Balls and get far away from here; Muri thanks him, and the villagers all take off. Vegeta tells Goku he was right; Moro's ki is ominous, but not particularly battle-worthy, and he wonders if they have the right person. Goku says he has a very bad feeling about it. The ship lands, and Moro emerges; Vegeta is surprised to see that he is a feeble old man. Goku says that is expected considering his age.
Moro enjoys his first breath of fresh air since he escaped. Meanwhile, his pilot recognizes Vegeta through the window of the ship, and wonders why he is there. Goku addresses Moro, telling him they have heard about his evil deeds, and suggesting he turn around and go back to prison. Moro looks around and focuses on a small hut. Inside, one of the Namekian children is still hiding from the game of hide-and-seek. Moro puts out a hand and draws the child to him with telekinesis. Goku asks what he is doing, and demands he let the child go, but Moro tells him that he needs food. Meanwhile, the other Namekians realize that Esca is missing. Moro holds the child by the throat, and Goku tells him to stop, but then Vegeta attacks, kicking Esca free and catching him, setting him down safely before Muri retrieves him. Moro is impressed with Vegeta's audacity, but Vegeta explains that he did these Namekians a lot of harm and he cannot allow even one more of them to die, certainly not as "food" for Moro. He tells Goku to let him take this one. Goku agrees, but reminds Vegeta that they do not know a lot about Moro's power, and to be careful.
Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan and dares Moro to use his magic. Moro warns him that his ignorance is showing if he thinks he can apprehend him. Vegeta attacks, and as they fight, Moro takes a brief refuge near the ship. When Vegeta pursues him, the pilot notices the insignia on Vegeta's clothes and is surprised that he joined the Galactic Patrol. Then Moro uses his magic to flatten Vegeta on the ground and then propel him toward a rock. Vegeta crashes, and Goku realizes that Moro has special powers. When Vegeta emerges, it is as a Super Saiyan God. Moro tries to use his magic again but he is unable to make it work. Vegeta lands a kick upside Moro's head, but Moro recovers. Vegeta tells him that he was looking forward to seeing what kind of monster could terrify the Galactic Patrol, but he is disappointed. Moro tries to fashion a tree as a weapon,[a] but Vegeta destroys it before it gets close. Moro tries using more objects, but Vegeta destroys them all, telling Moro that they have seen all sorts of strange powers in their battles, and none of this is new to him.
Back on the Galactic Patrol ship, Jaco asks Merusu if they should go to New Namek as well, but Merusu suggests they return to headquarters instead. They need to focus on Majin Boo. Jaco thinks it is likely that they have already defeated Moro; those two are quite strong, even a little stronger than himself! Merusu says that might be true, but it is still incredibly unlikely that they will win. Back on New Namek, Moro takes off his cloak, and says that if Vegeta really wants to see his magic, then he will.
