Summary

Vegeta, in his Super Saiyan God form, asks Moro, who just took off his cloak, if he has been holding back. Goku tells Moro that they heard he can absorb life energy, like he was trying to do with Esca earlier. Moro is surprised they know this, but now he is going to use the technique in a different way. From the ship, Moro's pilot wonders if Moro is going to use the same technique he used when they broke out of prison, and decides to get a little farther away.

Far away in space, on the Galactic Patrol spaceship, Jaco questions Merusu about Moro's energy absorption technique. Merusu says that not only can Moro absorb a planet's lifeforce, extant records indicate that he can wield this energy directly for attacks.

Moro powers up, and flames begin to shoot up from the ground in geysers around him. Vegeta is taken aback and wonders aloud what this technique might be. Then Moro gestures with a finger, causing a geyser of flames to shoot up right underneath Vegeta, who dodges and lands a short distance away, annoyed. Moro tells him that he is attacking the lifeforce of the planet upon which they stand. It is not his own power; it is the power of New Namek, which Moro finds to be exceptional. More geysers erupt near Vegeta, chasing him as he dodges, so he escapes into the air. Goku warns him to be careful just as the geysers extend over his head, coming back down to attack him. Some distance away, the Great Elder Muri hides behind a rock with Esca, the child Moro attacked earlier.

Vegeta charges at Moro to attack him with a ki blast, but Moro gestures with both hands, throwing up a wall of flames between them. Vegeta lands just opposite Moro, who tells Vegeta that he will not be able to touch him. He raises a hand, and the lifeforce of New Namek swirls around his arm in a spiral. Moro throws it at Vegeta, who dodges again. From the sidelines, Goku asks Vegeta to let him step in, and Vegeta tells him to shut up and watch. He shouts out to Moro, telling him that all he needs to do is keep dodging until he runs out of steam, but Moro tells him that this technique has no limits; he can keep using it freely until the planet dies. Vegeta tells Moro he does not know what to do; he does not have any more power-ups. Goku only then realizes that Vegeta is bluffing.

Moro tells Vegeta it is gracious of him to admit defeat. But before he goes, Vegeta wants to know why Moro came to Namek. Moro asks what use a dead man will have for that information, and Vegeta tells him that depending on his plans, he might want to keep them alive. Moro tells them he has come for the Dragon Balls, and Vegeta says he thought so. Moro tells him he has heard that all seven balls must be gathered, and asks him if he knows anything about it. Vegeta claims ignorance, and Moro says that as he thought, they are of no use to him. The geysers attack again, and Vegeta blasts them, freezing them in a solid state. Then Vegeta notices that Moro is missing, just as Moro is attacking him from behind with another geyser. Vegeta catches it like an energy blast, and while he holds it off, he asks Moro what he will wish for. Does he not have enough power already? Moro tells him that at the height of his power, this planet would have been a quick meal for him, and Vegeta himself barely worth noticing. Millions of years in prison have rendered him weak.

Vegeta decides Moro is worth killing after all. He transforms into Super Saiyan Blue and blasts away the geyser. Moro asks Vegeta if he was hiding this power, and Vegeta says it is like Moro hiding his true intent. From Moro's ship, the pilot is surprised to see that Vegeta powered up again, and Goku is proud of Vegeta for getting Moro to talk. Then Moro gestures, calling up half a dozen geysers to aim at Vegeta. Vegeta flies through them all to attack Moro, kicking him in the gut. Moro makes a crash landing, and the pilot panics, realizing he will be going back to prison if Moro loses.

Vegeta powers down. Then Goku looks behind him at a tree that is shedding leaves. Then he looks at his own hands. Vegeta touches down at the edge of a lake, and then Moro rises out of the water. Vegeta tells him that he is not going to sit back while this planet suffers, so he is going to end this. Goku warns Vegeta that something strange is happening. Just then, the pilot takes off, determined not to return to prison. Moro fires at Vegeta and Goku, and while they dodge his blasts, he disappears. Goku spots him on top of a hill, gathering a huge ball of the planet's energy. Vegeta wonders what he is up to, and tells him that however big he makes it, it will not work against him now, but Moro just smiles.

Goku and Vegeta look around and see small, individual balls of energy rising from the planet. Some distance away, the Namekians begin to realize something is wrong with the planet. Then one of them drops the Dragon Ball he was guarding, and another tells him to be more careful; the Elder entrusted him with this task. He apologizes weakly, but then another Namekian falls over. When asked what is wrong, he says he got dizzy. They realize that whatever is wrong with the planet, it is affecting them too. Goku tells Vegeta they should just attack while Moro is charging that thing, but then Moro squeezes all of that energy into a smaller ball and eats it. Then he pinpoints his ship and brings it down with a gesture, telling his pilot Cranberi to calm down; he is not going to lose. He should watch the battle from there. Cranberi says he understands.

Goku asks Vegeta if Moro seems a lot stronger than before, and Vegeta says that of course he does; this is why Merusu wanted to recapture him as quickly as possible. Vegeta says they should hurry up and settle this, and Moro dares him to try. Vegeta assures Moro that this little boost is not enough to surpass them; he powers up, and...nothing. Goku encourages Vegeta to go Blue, but he cannot.

Back on the Galactic Patrol ship, Merusu has just told Jaco that Moro's ability to absorb planetary energy includes the life force of all living things on the planet; he does not even need to attack Goku and Vegeta to neutralize them. He steals their energy while he fights. Merusu is concerned that Goku and Vegeta charged in without having any idea what they were getting into. Back on the battlefield, Vegeta cannot even turn Super Saiyan. Goku realizes that Moro has been stealing their energy, too. Then Moro attacks, easily dispatching Vegeta. Moro is amused that they did not figure it out before; as Vegeta said, he was hiding his true intent.
