Merusu is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball franchise, debuting as a Galactic Patrol member in the Dragon Ball Super manga-original "Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc" in chapter 42.

Biography

Merusu is the number-one super-elite member of the Galactic Patrol, responsible for 104 sectors.[1] Merusu comes to Earth in search of Majin Boo in order to gain access to the Dai Kaiōshin, who sealed the powers of and helped contain the planet-eating villain Moro ten million years ago.[2]

Merusu is aware of Son Goku and Vegeta's respective strength, and was able to get the jump on them both. Vegeta continues to have trouble keeping up with all of Merusu's movements during their chase of the Macareni brothers.

As with other Galactic Patrol members, Merusu wears the insignia and armor of the Galactic Patrol, which also allows him to fly via boosters from his feet.

Name

Merusu's name spelling of メルス appears to be a rearranged 鯣 (surume), dried shredded squid typically used as a topping on rice. This would fit with the respective, presumed name puns of both Jaco Tilimentempibosshi and Shiirasu.
