The Galactic Prison is where criminals captured by the Galactic Patrol are housed. Though first mentioned as existing in Universe 11 in Dragon Ball Super manga chapter 30, the first version actually seen in the series is Universe 7's version in Dragon Ball Super manga chapter 50, originally published 20 July 2019 in the September 2019 issue of Shueisha's V-Jump magazine.
Overview
Universe 7
The Galactic Patrol is in charge of protecting the peace throughout the galaxy, and operates a Galactic Prison.[2]
Universe 11
In Universe 11, Dispo mentions to Toppo that Jiren is battling Oshlet aliens on Planet Toile that have recently escaped the Galactic Prison; no attempt to reconcile or explain a Galactic Patrol's role versus that of the Pride Troopers has been made for Universe 11 versus its similar role in Universe 7.[1]
Name
In both Universe 7 and Universe 11, the Galactic Prison is referred to as 銀河刑務所 (Ginga Keimusho), taking the same 銀河 (Ginga) from the Galactic Patrol and appending 刑務所 (Keimusho), the standard word for "prison" or "penitentiary".
