"Peace for the Future..." is the four hundred and twentieth chapter of the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. It was first published in Japan in the 1993 #21/22 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.
Summary
Cell takes in what Trunks said about the plan being flawed, and says he is being conceited. "Cell. In your perfect form, you were certainly incredibly strong. But as you are now, I should be strong enough to defeat you." Cell realizes that is how he knows about all this; from having gone to the past. But he doubts Trunks can defeat him, explaining that he knows all about him from the spy robot. He could not even defeat No. 17 and No. 18. Trunks asks how come No. 17 and No. 18 are gone then. Cell cannot believe Trunks could have defeated them. Trunks says they need to go fight somewhere else, and uses a shockwave to blow Cell into the air. He flies after Cell, and the two of them land in a rocky place outside of the city.
Trunks turns Super Saiyan, and Cell also powers up. Trunks says he will not let him go back to the past, and Cell charges at Trunks. Trunks blocks him, and then punches Cell. Cell is bleeding from the mouth, and then swings his tail at Trunks. But Trunks grabs Cell's tail, and tosses him higher into the air. Cell stops himself in mid-air and prepares to use a Kamehameha, but Trunks powers up and lets off a huge blast with both hands. It shoots up at Cell and completely destroys him. Then Trunks returns to normal, and says it is finally all over, thanking Goku and the others. Trunks heads back home, and Bulma is glad to see him.
"For Trunks, who has lived through a rough future... and for Bulma and everyone else, at last true peace has come. And that peace should stand, so long as Trunks is around..."
