Dragon Ball Part 2 No. 5 is the seventeenth issue of Viz's Dragon Ball Monthly Comics, the original English-language printing of the Dragon Ball manga. It was released in July 1999 alongside the seventeenth issue of the "Dragon Ball Z"-branded chapters.
This issue does not contain a letters column.

The limited-color title page of chapter 33 is repurposed in greyscale as a title page for chapter 32 on page 1. The original title page for chapter 32 is omitted. The first eight pages of chapter 33, originally printed in limited color, are printed in greyscale here.
Page 24 is an interstitial page from the third collected volume. Its placement in chapter 33 is the same as the original.[1]
Cover Illustration
This issue's Akira Toriyama cover illustration was originally drawn as the title page of Dragon Ball Chapter 19, published in the 1985 #19 issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump on 09 April 1985. The illustration gets a full-page reproduction in Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 1 ("The Complete Illustrations")[2] and a ¾-page reproduction in the Dragon Ball Chōgashū ("A Visual History").[3]
Advertisements

Page 32 is an advertisement for the Pokémon monthly comics. This advertisement is distinct from the one that is reproduced on the thirteenth issue's page.
The back cover is a full-color advertisement for the Pioneer releases of Tenchi in Tokyo, Battle Athletes Victory, Ranma ½, Magical Project S, Phantom Quest Corp, Tenchi Universe, Video Girl Ai, and The Mysterious Play/Fushigi Yugi. This advertisement is reproduced on the sixteenth issue's page.
