Dragon Ball Part 3 No. 1 is the twenty-eighth issue of Viz's Dragon Ball Monthly Comics, the original English-language printing of the Dragon Ball manga. It was released in June 2000 alongside the twenty-eighth issue of the "Dragon Ball Z"-branded chapters. The limited-color pages in chapter 55 are printed here in greyscale.

The title page of chapter 54 is repurposed as a title page for chapter 55 on page 1 in its original black and white. The title pages for chapters 55 and 56 are omitted.
Page 8 is an interstitial page taken from Dragon Ball Volume 5. Muten Rōshi is perched on a pillow with a bowl of fruit nearby, holding a mug of something hot.
Cover Illustration
This issue's Akira Toriyama cover illustration was drawn for the "Catchphrase Grand Prix" feature in the 1986 #23 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump in Japan. This issue went on sale on 02 May 1986 and featured the original printing of Dragon Ball Chapter 325. The illustration gets a full-page reproduction in Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 1 ("The Complete Illustrations")[1] and a ⅔-page reproduction in the Dragon Ball Chōgashū ("A Visual History").[2]
Advertisements

The inside of the back cover is an eBay advertisement featuring a Superman figure.
The back cover is a full-color advertisement for the Pioneer release of Tenchi Universe. This ad is reproduced on the page for "Dragon Ball Z" Part 3-5.
