Dragon Ball Z Part 3 No. 4 is the twenty-seventh issue of Viz's "Dragon Ball Z" monthly comics, the original English-language printing of the Dragon Ball manga. It was released in May 2000 alongside the twenty-seventh issue of the "Dragon Ball"-branded chapters. All pages in this issue were originally printed in black and white.
This issue has an advertisement for Viz's shop-by-mail service on the inside of the front cover. The issue's title page, normally in that place, is instead on the first printed page. The shop-by-mail ad is reproduced on the page for "Dragon Ball" Part 2-14.

The full-color title page of chapter 247 appears in greyscale on page 2, and the full-color illustration serves as the cover for this issue. The title page for chapter 248 is omitted.
Cover Illustration
This issue's Akira Toriyama cover illustration was drawn for the title page of Dragon Ball Chapter 247. This chapter appeared in the 1989 #47 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump, which went on sale on 24 October 1989 in Japan. The illustration gets a quarter-page reproduction in Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 1 ("The Complete Illustrations")[1] and a small reproduction in Dragon Ball Chōgashū ("A Visual History").[2]

The inside of the back cover is a new advertisement for the "Dragon Ball Z Specialty Store" at www.japanimation.com, reproduced here.
The back cover is a full-color advertisement for various Pioneer VHS and DVD releases featuring Sol Bianca "The Legacy". This ad is reproduced on the page for "Dragon Ball Z" Part 3-3.
