"Is This Gonna Work?! The Potara Fusion!" is the five hundred and second chapter of the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. It was first published in Japan in the 1995 #07 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.
Summary
Goku suddenly stops and asks if they should be Super Saiyan before fusing. Elder Kaiōshin says there is no point, they can do it afterwards.
