"I don't have a…!" is the third chapter of the Dr. Slump manga series by Akira Toriyama. It was first published in Japan in the 1980 #07 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.
Summary
Arale comes home from school one day and informs Senbei that she is "all smooth down there". Senbei falls out of his chair and scolds Arale for not greeting him like a normal person. But she goes on: she was changing in gym class and everyone told her she was all smooth down there. Senbei says he does not know what she is talking about, but Arale insists that everyone thought she was weird and she wants to know why she doesn't have one. It's really important; everyone else has one. Suddenly, Senbei is terrified. Does she mean...?! Arale tries to tell him what she is talking about but he puts a hand over her speech bubble so the children will not see, yelling at Arale to stop right there. But Arale wants one too! Senbei tries to assure her that she does not need one, but Arale reminds him that he said she was the perfect humanoid robot, and clearly that was a lie!
Senbei falls to his knees, distraught. His worst fears have come to pass, but it was not his fault! He has never seen one! All of his dirty magazines censor the crucial bits, so how was he supposed to know what one looks like? Arale suggests that he get someone to show him the real thing. Senbei tells her it is not that easy, but Arale thinks he should just make someone show him. Exasperated, he informs her that would be illegal. Arale threatens to throw a tantrum, so Senbei suggests he could turn her into a boy. He knows about those. Arale does not seem to like this idea, though. She suggests they just take a peek, and Senbei tells her that a scientist cannot behave in such a manner... but then he gets an idea! He informs Arale that they will get to see one after all, and she cheers.
Senbei runs to his lab, happy to have remembered that he is a genius. He drools as he anticipates seeing one at long last. Arale asks him if he is really doing this for her and he insists that he is. Arale cannot wait to show it to everyone, but Senbei begs her to please not do that. She does not understand why, but finally, Senbei is finished with his new invention: see-through glasses! They cause everything inorganic to become transparent. He puts them on, and Arale thinks he is scary.
First, a clothed dog becomes a naked dog, and a whale in the water appears to float in the air. A mouse is spotted in the rafters, and Arale becomes invisible. Arale wants to try, so she tells Senbei to hold her glasses. He wonders again why he made her nearsighted. She focuses on the area below his waist and asks him what that is, so Senbei yells at her to be careful where she looks. Drooling again, Senbei says it is time to go out. Arale is still hung up on that thing, though. She doesn't have one of those either. She asks Senbei if she can have one and he seems to have changed his mind: he tells her absolutely not.
Senbei is gleeful as a child as he rushes outside to find a target. He spots a lady sitting on a bench at a bus stop with a cat in her lap. His heart starts pounding, and his breathing grows labored. He reminds Arale that he is doing this for scientific purposes, but she points out that he is drooling. Nevertheless, he puts on the see-through glasses and immediately spots Tarō and the cat-ears boy, both of whom are naked. They greet Arale as Senbei falls over. Tarō greets Senbei, and the younger boy says those are funny-looking sunglasses. Senbei yells at them to cover themselves.
Senbei works up his nerve and approaches the lady on the bench, asking if he can sit next to her and promising not to do anything weird. She says okay. Tarō asks Arale what is wrong with Senbei, and Arale says it is his first time. The younger boy asks, his first time for what? Meanwhile, Senbei puts on the glasses and works up his nerve to look at the lady. He looks, and immediately suffers from a violent nosebleed. He recovers from this incredible experience, and the lady asks if something is wrong. He says yes: her cat is in the way. The lady is confused, so Senbei tries to assure her that nothing is actually wrong. Then he tries to poke the cat with a stick to get it to scram. Instead, he is attacked (by cat or lady, it is not clear, but probably the cat).
Arale steals the glasses and checks out Tarō, looking below his waist. Tarō asks if something is sticking out, and she says, only a tiny bit. Senbei angrily tells her to return his glasses. Then the younger boy spots Ms. Yamabuki passing on a motorbike (which is invisible). Senbei turns around and sees her (and also a naked Superman (not Suppaman) flying away above her) and he nearly loses his mind. Then he remembers he needs to see her from the front, so he rushes in front of her and gets hit by the motorbike. Arale asks him if he managed to see her belly button. Injured in the street, Senbei stutters in disbelief.
