"Warriors of Universe 6" is the first individual tankōbon volume of the Japanese manga series Dragon Ball Super. This volume comprises chapters 1 through 9 as originally serialized in V-Jump, August 2015 to April 2016. The volume was first available in print on 04 April 2016 and released digitally on 02 May 2016. The entire volume is printed in greyscale.

Introduction

The volume's introduction from author Toyotarō, as printed on the front flap of the dust cover:

I've now had the privilege of drawing Dragon Ball for about a year. The more I draw, the more I'm made to realize the unmistakable gap between me and Toriyama-sensei. But, they say that recognizing your opponent's strengths is proof that you've gotten stronger as well. In that respect, I suppose I've gone from a Mr. Satan, who can't sense ki, to around a Yamcha. I'm sure there'll probably be plenty of spots where that sticks out to you, but I'd really appreciate it if you'd try and view this with an open mind!
— Toyotarō

Notes

Variations

Sorbet and Shisami lament that their story was passed over in the Dragon Ball Super manga.

Viz's English translation of the volume mistakenly adapts Sorbet's bonus as "I… was flown down here…". While the literal meaning of とばされた (tobasareta) is "jumped/flown over", in general conversation and context it takes on the meaning of being "skipped". Other non-English international translations adapted this line accurately.

Q&A Session

This volume contains a short, two-page Q&A session with original author Akira Toriyama and Dragon Ball Super author Toyotarō entitled, "Tori-Toyo Free Talk".[2]
