Cover Illustration

This issue's Akira Toriyama cover illustration was drawn for "Jump Carddass" in the 1990 #01/02 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump, in which chapter 253 appeared. The bottom of Toriyama's drawing is stretched to fill the bottom half of the cover. The illustration gets third-page reproductions in Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 1 ("The Complete Illustrations")[1] and in Dragon Ball Chōgashū ("A Visual History").[2]
This issue also includes an insert poster originally drawn by Toriyama as an insert poster for the 1991 #52 issue of Weekly Jump, which contained Dragon Ball Chapter 352 and went on sale on 03 December 1991 in Japan. The illustration gets full-page reproductions in Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 1 ("The Complete Illustrations")[3] and in Dragon Ball Chōgashū ("A Visual History").[4]
