Universe Five is called the "Well-Balanced Universe". Their rank at the beginning of the Tournament of Power is No. 3 out of 12, which grants them exemption from the tournament.[1] The universe is ruled by the KaiōshinOgma, the God of DestructionArak, and his attendant AngelKucatail.
Ogma is gentle god who values a balance between knowledge and power.[2][1] Ogma's name pun is unknown, but many Kaiōshin appear to have been named after deities, and Ogma (オグマ Oguma), a deity of Celtic mythology, is a likely source for their name.[3]
Arak tries to expand his universe's potential through the smallest possible amount of destruction by thoroughly investigating what he should target.[1] Arak's name likely derives from Arak (アラック arakku), a traditional Middle Eastern anise-flavored beverage distilled from grapes and grapevines. It should be noted that in some instances, Arak is also written in katakana as アラク, the same as the character’s name. This name pun follows the theme of Gods of Destruction and Angels being named after alcoholic beverages.[3]
Kucatail is an angel of the female type[4] who watches over her excellent Kaiōshin and God of Destruction and tries to learn from their knowledge.[5] Kucatail's name is likely derived from "cocktail" (カクテル kakuteru), a beverage that contains two or more ingredients where at least one of those ingredients contains alcohol. This name pun follows the theme of Gods of Destruction and Angels being named after alcoholic beverages.[3]
↑The line identifying Kucatail as a "female type" was added to her bio some time after the universe profiles first went live, as one can see from comparing the translations by Herms and Kagari. Since it was never corrected, and we have no real evidence to the contrary, we see no reason to assume it is a mistake.
