"The Twenty-Fold Kaiō-Ken Gamble" is the three hundred and thirteenth chapter of the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. It was first published in Japan in the 1991 #11 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.
Summary
Freeza elbows Goku in the face, sending him flying. Freeza flies after him, but Goku catches himself in mid-air, and flies over to a nearby mountain. Freeza notices this, stops, and quickly charges up his index and middle fingers. He swipes his hand down and cuts straight through the mountain Goku is standing atop, as well as some of the ground, all the way to the horizon, and Goku cannot believe it. Freeza says it is like he said, he could destroy this whole planet if he wanted to; after all, he was the one who destroyed Planet Vegeta. Goku is worried that he cannot win. Kuririn notes that he sliced through the planet, but figures Goku must be thinking up something. Piccolo says he isn't thinking of anything, it is just that Freeza's true strength is much greater than they, or Goku, thought. Freeza says he cannot control his anger any longer, and will finish this soon.
Tenshinhan is shocked to hear that Goku is already using 10x Kaiō-Ken, and thinks he is done for. Kaiō says that furthermore, Freeza is not even using half of his true strength, and thinks back on telling them to keep their "hands off Freeza no matter what", and now it is all over. Meanwhile, Goku is contemplating using a 20x Kaiō-Ken. On one hand, his body probably cannot handle it, but on the other hand, if Freeza really is only at 50%, then he is completely at a loss anyway. He decides he has no choice but to risk it, and hopes Freeza was bluffing. Goku suddenly explodes with tremendous power, surprising Freeza, and he flies in and punches Freeza in the face, sending him flying. Then he flies after Freeza. "Ka...me..." Goku catches up to Freeza and punches at him, but Freeza dodges. "...ha..." Goku ends up in the air, and... "me...haaaa!!!!!" Freeza just puts his hand out to stop it, and the blast envelops him. When the smoke clears, Goku is panting, and Freeza is not dead, just bruised a little. Goku thinks, "Th-That bastard...!!!!"
