Overview

The full composition is part d of the suite entitled "Sexy Gal Bulma", which is track #04 on both the Ongakushū record and disc #2 of the Daizenshuu.

G2 [...] was used in the sense of the group being in the middle of their journey and unsure of what to do next.
Dragon Ball & Dragon Ball Z Daizenshuu (2:4d)

G2 is given the title "Bulma's Trickery" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions. The piece was assigned the Kanzenshuu catalogue number of K-16 based on its placement in the series.

Form and Analysis

G2 consists of 13 bars in a moderate 4 (around 100 beats per minute).

Part Bars Details
A1 4 bassoon melody; two 2-bar phrases, both i-preV-V with v˚5 resolving to i
B 4 two 2-bar phrases (i); flute pickup; clarinet melody; ends on arpeggiated V+ on piano
A2 4 A is repeated exactly, including the flute pickup leading to the end instead of B
End 1 flute pickup leads to V+ instead of i as it does in B; final chord falls on 2

The chords of B fall on the 2nd beats of its first and third bars; the chord also falls on the 2nd beat in the final bar.

Markings for synthesized instrumentation in the score are approximate and mostly notated on the keyboard line. The bassoon/glock phrases in Part A end on the bare-bones dominant but this is always followed by a percussive E♭ (boing or boingless) on the final beat of the phrase, resolving a semitone downward to the tonic (i). This is marked in the score by way of shorthand (v˚).
