Opening line of the page. This opening line should list the technique's main information in sentence form.

General Overview

An overview of the technique, such as uses, conception, etc. Its length should be relative to the technique's importance in the series, but brevity and conciseness is still expected.

Usage

First arc

  • The first Kamehameha in the series is performed by its inventor, the Turtle Hermit, to put out the inferno at Mount Frypan. He inadvertently blows up the entire mountain in the process.[1]
  • Though the Turtle Hermit says it took him fifty years to master the Kamehameha, Son Goku immediately manages to copy it and fire off a small one, wrecking a car.[2]
  • Trapped inside Pilaf's Castle, Goku attempts to break a wall with the Kamehameha, but the result is merely a small hole. This does allow Oolong and Pu'er to fly through it after transforming into bats, and prevent Pilaf's wish from being granted.[3]

21st Tenka'ichi Budōkai arc

  • Having entered the Tenka'ichi Budōkai as "Jackie Chun", the Turtle Hermit uses the Kamehameha to get back into the ring during his match against Kuririn.[4]
  • In the final match, Goku and Jackie Chun have a Kamehameha versus Kamehameha clash. In this instance, Goku has his left hand over his right hand, whereas most of the time the move is performed with the right hand over the left.[5]
  • When Goku turns into a Great Ape, Jackie Chun uses a "Kamehameha Max Power" to blow up the moon.[6]
  • Jackie Chun attempts to use the Kamehameha again, but does not have enough energy left. Goku does manage to use one in return, though, which almost results in Jackie Chun going out of bounds.[7]

Red Ribbon Army arc

  • When Goku fights Sergeant Metallic, he thinks Metallic fired a "Kamehameha-looking thing" from his mouth, so he uses a Kamehameha of his own, blowing Metallic's head off. Goku fears he has killed a person, but the robot continues to move.[8]
  • Goku attempts a Kamehameha against Buyon, but it bounces off just like every other attack.[9]
  • Goku uses the Kamehameha to get out of a giant octopus' clutches.[10]
  • Goku fires off a Kamehameha to propel himself, Bulma, Kuririn and a mouse out of the Pirate Cave and up out of the water.[11]
  • Goku blasts Tao Pai-pai with a Kamehameha, but it has no effect beyond shredding the assassin's clothes.[12]
  • While tearing through the Red Ribbon Army's base, Goku uses a Kamehameha to blow up a flying vehicle, which sends the flying vehicle next to it crashing into a tower.[13]
  • The Fortuneteller Crone's masked fighter uses a Kamehameha to surprise Goku,[14] who surprises him in return by using a Kamehameha of his own.[15]
  • Goku uses a Kamehameha to blast the combined Pilaf Machines, wrecking Mai's one in particular.[16]

22nd Tenka'ichi Budōkai arc

  • Yamcha uses his first Kamehameha in the series against Tenshinhan, who bounces it back.[17]
  • Kuririn figures that if Yamcha could perform the Kamehameha, he should be able to as well, and manages to launch one at Chiaotzu.[18]
  • Tenshinhan uses the Kamehameha against Jackie Chun after discovering the old man's true identity, saying it is an easy technique to copy.[19]
  • In his match against Kuririn, Goku uses a Kamehameha in mid-air to propel himself into his opponent. Kuririn fires off one of his own to distract Goku and create an opening to grab his tail.[20]
  • Goku starts saying "Ka... me... ha... me..." but stops, choosing to save his energy because he figures Tenshinhan would just deflect the technique again.[21]
  • The Turtle Hermit uses the Kamehameha to blast the Crane Hermit off into the distance, putting an end to his interfering with the match.[22]
  • Goku uses a Kamehameha to launch himself towards Tenshinhan, sending them both hurtling out of bounds. Goku manages to fire another tiny Kamehameha trying to keep himself from hitting the ground first, but he loses the match anyway when a truck drives into his path.[23][24]

Demon King Piccolo arc

  • Goku annihilates Tambourine with a Kamehameha, avenging Kuririn and Kinto'un.[25]
  • Goku uses the Kamehameha against the Demon King Piccolo, but it has no effect whatsoever.[26]
  • Goku bends the Kamehameha for the first time, twisting it around to hit the back of Piccolo's head.[27]

23rd Tenka'ichi Budōkai arc

  • Kuririn uses a Kamehameha against Ma Junior, who dodges it by leaving an Afterimage.[28]
  • Goku uses a Super Kamehameha to counter Piccolo's blast.[29]
  • Goku fires a Kamehameha from his feet, leaving his hands free to punch Piccolo in the face.[30]
  • Goku fires a small Kamehameha to get out of the way of Piccolo's homing blast.[31]
  • Announcing his victory, Goku pummels Piccolo and almost finishes him off with a Kamehameha from the air.[32]

Saiyan arc

  • Goku uses a bending Kamehameha against Raditz, whose scouter indicates "Kakarrot" now has a battle power of 924 compared to the 416 it displayed earlier.[33]
  • Yamcha uses what looks like a Kamehameha against one of the Saibaimen, which seems to finish the job, but the Saibaiman gets back up and selfdestructs, taking Yamcha down with it.[34]
  • Kuririn fires what looks like a Kamehameha at Nappa when Son Gohan is too paralyzed with fear to launch his own attack.[35]
  • Goku deflects Nappa's "Greatest Technique" with a Kamehameha at point-blank range.[36]
  • Goku uses the Kamehameha in combination with the Kaiō-Ken to counter Vegeta's Galic Cannon. He goes up to 3x Kaiō-Ken initially, and then to 4x in order to overpower Vegeta.[37]

Namek / Freeza arc

  • Training at 100 times Earth's gravity, Goku bends several Kamehameha around at himself, then recovers by eating a senzu.[38]
  • Fighting Freeza alongside Gohan and Piccolo, Kuririn fires a Kamehameha up at him.[39]
  • Underwater, Goku creates two Kamehameha orbs that he sends up out of the water one after another to distract Freeza, before kicking him with both feet.[40]
  • In desperation, Goku goes up to 20x Kaiō-Ken and fires a Kamehameha at Freeza, but all it does is piss him off.[41]
  • Freeza gets hit by two blasts from Gohan and Kuririn, and the latter can be seen holding his hands out in Kamehameha position.[42]
  • Now a Super Saiyan, Goku gets into the Kamehameha pose, but Freeza says he would rather die by killing himself. Goku tells him to go ahead, but instead Freeza fires a blast at Planet Namek itself.[43]
  • Goku fires a Kamehameha up at Freeza, who dives down enveloped in an energy sphere of his own. After a brief struggle, Freeza circles around to hit Goku head-on.[44][45]

Artificial Humans / Cell arc

  • Goku fires a Kamehameha down at Artificial Human No. 19, who absorbs it into the palm of his hand.[46] When Goku is about to fire another Kamehameha, Piccolo warns him not to.[47]
  • Cell reveals he can use the Kamehameha when fighting Piccolo.[48][49]
  • Goku uses a Kamehameha against Cell, which gets swatted aside easily.[50]
  • Cell fires his own Kamehameha at Goku, who jumps into the air to keep it from hitting the spectators and possibly blowing up the Earth.[51]
  • Goku combines the Kamehameha with his teleportation skill to catch Cell off-guard and hit him point-blank.[52][53]
  • Cell launches a full-power Kamehameha down at Gohan, threatening to destroy the Earth along with him, but Gohan calmly counters it with his own Kamehameha.[54]
  • Cell charges up one final Kamehameha intending to end it all, and Gohan fires off his own with the image of Goku behind him.[55]

Majin Boo arc

  • Son Goten shoots a mispronounced "Kamekameha" at Trunks.[56]
  • Gohan blasts Majin Boo's egg with a Kamehameha. It opens up with seemingly nothing inside it but smoke, until the smoke coalesces into Majin Boo. In this instance, Gohan has his left hand over his right hand, while the Kamehameha is usually performed with the right hand over the left.[57]
  • Super Saiyan 3 Goku uses the Kamehameha against Boo, who mimics it and fires one right back.[58]
  • Preparing to finish Boo off, Gotenks gets into a Kamehameha stance, but suddenly drops out of his Super Saiyan 3 state as the Fusion's time limit approaches.[59]
  • Majin Boo, in his Gotenks-absorbed form, fires a Kamehameha at Gohan.[60]
  • Goku blasts a Kamehameha at Boo - now in his original, pure form - who fires off one of his own later in the same chapter. Goku then uses the technique again, saying this is a proper Kamehameha.[61]
  • Boo uses what looks like a Kamehameha to try and stop the Genki-Dama coming at him.[62]
