Biography

Dragon Ball Z TV Special 1

In the first Dragon Ball Z TV Special, five "strength-enhanced" Saibaimen fight Vegeta as a child in a training room on one of Freeza's planets. The observing aliens are astonished when Vegeta avoids all the attacks the Saibaimen throw at him and finishes them off with ease, while Nappa just chuckles.[1]

Saiyan arc

Six Saibaiman seeds inside a small bottle.

When the Saiyans arrive on Earth, Vegeta wants to toy with the Earthlings opposing them and asks Nappa to plant six Saibaimen. Nappa pulls out a small bottle containing six seeds, and plants them all into the ground, saying this is good soil for growing Saibaimen. He pours some liquid on the buried seeds, and they sprout immediately.

Reinforcements arrive for the Earthlings, increasing their numbers from three to six; Vegeta says that is perfect and suggests they all fight a Saibaiman one on one. Tenshinhan goes first and easily defeats his opponent.[2] Nappa is surprised, because the Saibaiman's battle power is 1200, making it equal to Raditz, but Vegeta is not worried. He does blow the Saibaiman up just by pointing at it, though, saying it should have taken its job more seriously.

The second Saibaiman gets ready to face Yamcha, who blasts it with a Kamehameha that seemingly finishes it off, but it suddenly jumps back up, grabs on to Yamcha, and selfdestructs. Kuririn rushes over to his friend, confirms that he is dead,[3] and takes revenge by blasting the remaining Saibaimen. Three of them get killed, but one gets away. It attacks Son Gohan, but Piccolo grabs its arm, tosses it into the air, and vaporizes it with a mouth blast.[4]

Dragon Ball Daima

In Dragon Ball Daima, the Great Witch Marba uses Saibaiman seeds to create Majin Koo[5] and Majin Doo[6] at Doctor Arinsu's request.

Dragon Ball GT

When a portal to Hell opens up in Dragon Ball GT and many villains from the past come out to wreak havoc upon Earth, there are many Saibaimen among them.[7]

Name

栽培 (Saibai) is the Japanese word for cultivation, making a 栽培マン (Saibaiman) a "cultivated man".
