===Events According to Dragon Ball Super: Broly=== | |||
Dragon Ball Super: Broly upends many long-standing official timeline sources by including scenes with on-screen information contradictory to the guidebooks, prior promotional materials, and the timeline suggested by the events of Jaco the Galactic Patrolman. Below is how Broly interprets the timeline of events leading up to Goku's arrival on Earth. | |||

*As a part of each Digest Edition's effort to chronicle story-relevant aspects of the series (both in-universe and out), volume 12 includes timeline information pertaining to the Saiyans. Particularly of note is the specification for the Saiyans' victory over Planet Plant, which this graphic places in Age 720. It also includes the beginning of their partnership with Freeza in that same year. In prior publications covering this material, the Saiyans' war and victory over Planet Plant was stretched out over a vague decade, and their partnership with Freeza does not come until Age 731. Moreover, this graphic states that Vegeta and Nappa arrive on Earth in Age 761, though every timeline before this one places their arrival in Age 762, about a month before the confrontation with Freeza on Planet Namek. | |||

Events According to Dragon Ball Super: Broly
Dragon Ball Super: Broly upends many long-standing official timeline sources by including scenes with on-screen information contradictory to the guidebooks, prior promotional materials, and the timeline suggested by the events of Jaco the Galactic Patrolman. Below is how Broly interprets the timeline of events leading up to Goku's arrival on Earth.
-
-
"Five Years Later"
| Date | Event |
|---|---|
| "41 Years Ago"[note 25] | King Cold introduces his son and new commander of his organization, Freeza, to King Vegeta and the Saiyans. Freeza gifts scouters to the Saiyans, replacing their scout-scopes. While checking in on the growth of his son, King Vegeta discovers the fearsome power of another incubating baby, Broli. King Vegeta dispatches Broli to Vampa, and the boy's father, Paragus, follows after him in defiance of the king. Paragus crash lands on Vampa, stranding him with his son. |
| "Five Years Later" | Bardock returns to Planet Vegeta in response to an order from Freeza. Suspicious of Freeza's motives, Bardock and Gine send their youngest son, Kakarrot, to Earth to keep him safe. Freeza destroys Planet Vegeta. On another planet, Vegeta, Raditz, Nappa, and two unnamed Saiyans learn of the planet's destruction. |
Series Coverage

- Akira Toriyama's first serialized manga series, Dr. Slump, and his prequel spin-off to Dragon Ball, Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, take place in this era.
Notes

- As a part of each Digest Edition's effort to chronicle story-relevant aspects of the series (both in-universe and out), volume 12 includes timeline information pertaining to the Saiyans.
- ↑ This date works backwards from Hondawara's listed age in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, which takes place in Circa Age 739.
- ↑ This date works backwards from Hijiki's listed age in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, which takes place in Circa Age 739.
- ↑ This date originates from Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 7: Dragon Ball Large Encyclopedia, but draws upon King Chapa's age of 43 years old in Age 753 as documented in Dragon Ball: Adventure Special.
- ↑ This date works backwards from Aosa's listed age in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, which takes place in Circa Age 739.
- ↑ The timeline for Dragon Ball Online states that the 250th anniversary of Capsule Corporation takes place in Age 962
- ↑ This date works backwards from Tamagoro Katayude's listed age in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, which takes place in Circa Age 739.
- ↑ This date works backwards from Mozuku's listed age in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, which takes place in Circa Age 739.
- ↑ This date originates from Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 7: Dragon Ball Large Encyclopedia, but draws upon Pilaf's age of 38 years old presented in Dragon Ball: Adventure Special. Daizenshuu 7 assumes that the listed age reflects his age in Age 753, the year of his involvement with Demon King Piccolo and his final appearance in the manga.
- ↑ This date originates from Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 7: Dragon Ball Large Encyclopedia, but draws upon Sergeant Master Murasaki's age of 35 years old in Age 750 as documented in Dragon Ball: Adventure Special.
- ↑ This date originates from Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 7: Dragon Ball Large Encyclopedia, but draws upon Giran's age of 33 years old in Age 750 as documented in Dragon Ball: Adventure Special.
- ↑ Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 7: Dragon Ball Large Encyclopedia and Dragon Ball Chōzenshū 4: Dragon Ball Super Encyclopedia list Senbe's birth year as Age 722, which would make him 23 years old when he builds Arale in Age 745 as listed in the same guidebooks. However, the cover page of Dr. Slump chapter 9 establishes Senbe as 28 years old when he builds Arale. The guidebook birth years for rest of the characters' ages listed on this same cover page are consistent with working backwards from the year Age 745. This timeline accepts Senbe's birth year as Age 717 to stay consistent with both Dr. Slump and Arale's "birth" year.
- ↑ This date works backwards from Jaco's listed approximate age in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, which takes place in Circa Age 739.
- ↑ This date originates from Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 7: Dragon Ball Large Encyclopedia, but draws upon Namu's age of 29 years old in Age 750 as documented in Dragon Ball: Adventure Special.

- ↑ This date works backwards from An Anzuki's listed age in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, which takes place in Circa Age 739.
- ↑ This date originates from Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 7: Dragon Ball Large Encyclopedia, but draws upon Ran-Fan's age of 24 years old in Age 750 as documented in Dragon Ball: Adventure Special.
- ↑ In Dragon Ball chapter 85, Tao Pai-Pai says that he is celebrating his 20th year as an assassin in Age 750.
- ↑ This date originates from Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 7: Dragon Ball Large Encyclopedia, but draws upon the Yamcha's age of 20 years old presented in Dragon Ball: Adventure Special. Daizenshuu 7 assumes that the listed age reflects his age in Age 753, the year of the 22nd Tenka'ichi Budōkai.
- ↑ This date originates from Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 7: Dragon Ball Large Encyclopedia, but draws upon Tenshinhan's age of 20 years old in Age 753 as documented in Dragon Ball: Adventure Special.
- ↑ In Dragon Ball Minus, which takes place in Age 739, Gine tells Bardock that Kakarrot has been in an incubator for three years.
- ↑ Dragon Ball Daizenshuu 7: Dragon Ball Large Encyclopedia and Dragon Ball Chōzenshū 4: Dragon Ball Super Encyclopedia place these events in Age 737, working backwards from Goku's given age of 12 years old during the 21st Tenka'ichi Budōkai, and then account for the fact that his age is stated in May 750 by stating that Son Gohan finds him between June and August.
- ↑ Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Super episode 1 both state that Beerus has just awoken from a 39-year long nap. Beerus awakens in Age 778.
- ↑ Jaco the Galactic Patrolman's opens with narration from Tokunoshin Omori framing the story as occurring "about ten years ago." In Jaco's 11th chapter, the series reveals that "about ten years ago" works backwards from Dragon Ball's first chapter, which takes place in Age 749.
- ↑ Dragon Ball Super: Broly takes place in an unspecified Age, though likely Age 780 or Age 781. "41 Years Ago" from those dates places these events in either Age 739 or Age 740. In previous understandings of the Dragon World Timeline, Freeza destroys Planet Vegeta in the year Age 737, which in this movie's chronology will not occur until Age 744 or Age 745.
