Hacchi Hyack is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball universe by Akira Toriyama. He was created as the final antagonist for Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans, a multi-platform OVA and video game series released in Japan in 1993. Hacchi Hyack is initially created as a device to harvest the rage energy from the defeated Tsufruians during their war against the Saiyans. He eventually gathered enough energy that he evolved into a living creator and attempted to take revenge on the final Saiyans, including Son Goku, Son Gohan, Vegeta, and Future Trunks.
Biography

Approximately Age 725, the militaristic Saiyans waged war against the scientific Tsufruians for control over Planet Plant. Near the end of this war, Doctor Raichi, created Hacchi Hyack to capture and recycle the rage energy expelled by his dying kinsmen. Just before his lab was overrun and he was killed, he launched Hacchi Hyack into space. In the decades that followed, Hacchi Hyack absorbed the rage energy of those defeated by Saiyans. This included not only his own creator (now reborn as a "ghost warrior"), but also beings defeated by Saiyans unconnected to the original conflict such as Freeza, Coola, Slug, and Tullece.
By Age 767, Hacchi Hyack had nearly absorbed enough energy to become his own life form. Doctor Raichi launched an attack on Earth to finally defeat the final remaining Saiyans: Son Goku, Son Gohan, Vegeta, and Trunks. Goku and his friends successfully stopped Raichi's plot and defeated the scientist. The Raichi's rage at his second death was enough to fully power Hacchi Hyack and transform him into a humanoid shape. Although Hacchi Hyack was strong, Goku and the others discovered his weakness (a short period of vulnerability prior to an attack) and were able to defeat the newly-created life form.
Name
Hacchi Hyack's Japanese name, ハッチヒャック (Hatchihyakku), is likely derived from the term for "greengrocer", 八百屋 (yaoya), fitting in with the battle of the Saiyans (pun on vegetables) vs. Tsufruians (pun on fruits). The 八 in the term for greengrocer could also be read as hachi, while the 百 could be read as hyaku.

Notable Skills
As a computer, Hacchi Hyack was able to absorb the rage energy from beings defeated by Saiyans, starting with the Tsufruians and then onward to those defeated by Son Goku and friends. It was able to absorb this energy despite being separated by a great distance. This energy was stored in spheres located under Hacchi Hyack's canopy. Doctor Raichi was able to use these spheres to create "ghost warriors" to battle against Son Goku and friends; some of the ghost warriors took on the appearance and personalities of defeated enemies, while others resembled generic monsters.
As a humanoid lifeform, Hacchi Hyack was an incredibly power fighter, on par (according to Goku) with Broli. He was able to use powerful ki attens and appeared nearly invincible, easily defeating all of the assembled Saiyans and Piccolo until his weakness was discovered.
Performance
In the original OVA, Doctor Raichi is portrayed by Yūsaku Yara, a voice actor best known for playing Slug in Dragon Ball Z Movie 4. In the remake, Hacchi Hyack wad voiced by Hiroshi Iwasaki who also voiced his creator, Doctor Raichi. This pair of roles are his only ones in the Dragon Ball franchise so far.
