Mistaking Goku to be Bulma's grandson, they demand her to hand over a large amount of money in exchange for his life. Meanwhile, Vegeta forces Trunks and Goten to accompany Goku on the journey, thinking it would be good training for them. However, Goten gets a phone call at the last minute, and waits outside when Goku and Trunks enter the ship, and are surprised when they walk into Pan. Excitedly, Pan presses the launch button, leaving Goten behind. And now, the adventure of the trio on the search of the Black-Star Dragon Balls begins!
