"Dragon Fist Explosion!! If Goku Won’t Do it, Who Will?" is the thirteenth theatrical film of the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Z. The movie premiered as part of the 1995 summer "Toei Anime Fair" on 15 July 1995, along with two other movies from the Slam Dunk and Ninku series. It was written by series composer Takao Koyama and directed by Mitsuo Hashimoto.
Synopsis
Faraway in the south galaxy, Konats's young hero, Minoshia, perishes after a monstrous encounter. On Earth, while justice is being served by the Saiyaman, the elderly Hoi pleads for their assistance with summoning Shenlong. He wants to free Tapion, another hero of Konats, away from the music box he's been sealed by. The Dragon Team swiftly gathers the Dragon Balls to support the wish. Upon Tapion's release, he vexedly reveals the purpose of his boxed prison. The monster of Konats, Hildegarn, had its upper half sealed within Tapion and its lower half sealed within Minoshia. The two halves are compelled to complete each other thus it's necessary to deter the attraction.
As Tapion prevised, Hildegarn's lower half appears in the city, seeking human energy to absorb. He soon forces it to vanish & relocate within himself with his instrument's melody. Equipped with the flute & sword received from Konats' god, he is compelled to tirelessly and dutifully seal both halves of Hildegarn, whernever it may surface. Fascinated by his heroics, Trunks attempts to visit Tapion, though his meeting is interrupted once Hoi tries to steal the flute. Choosing to trust Tapion, Trunks refuses to compromise the flute and later invites him to his home. Bulma's gesture for a special sleeping room proves ineffective as Hildegarn breaks away from Tapion to continue its rampage.
Dragon Team is unable to harm the completed Hildegarn due to its ability to turn into ectoplasm. Countering a merge with a merging of their own, Goten and Trunks become Gotenks to inundate it. In response, Hildegarn transforms to defeat Gotenks and company once more. Tapion appears to seal Hildegarn with his melody but he's too strong to be contained now. It manages to destroy the flute and kill Hoi after breaking free, seemingly placing our warriors into an hopeless development. However, Goku uses his Dragon Fist technique to escort Hildegarn to its end. With the battle resolved, Tapion gifts Trunks his sword & uses a time machine to return to the past.
