"A Faint Light" is the two hundred and twentieth chapter of the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. It was first published in Japan in the 1989 #20 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.
Summary
Vegeta takes off his scouter and says three hours have passed, and that coward Kakarrot still is not here. Gohan yells at him that his father is not a coward, and Kuririn wonders why he has not come. Nappa, who has taken off his outer armor, is ready to knock them around, but is disappointed that Kakarrot will not get to see. Kuririn thinks they are all going to die now, but Piccolo says there is a slight chance they can win, if things go smoothly. Piccolo says the plan will be for Kuririn to distract Nappa, and then he will grab his tail. And then Gohan will have to put all of his power into an attack. Kuririn thinks this is a good plan, and they may actually win.
God suddenly feels Son Goku's ki, meaning he has finally made it back. God teleports away to get him, as Goku is at the end of the Serpent Road. Goku rushes into King Enma's office, and then God grabs him and they teleport back to God's Temple. He and Mister Popo then wish Goku luck, and he jumps off the side of the temple and dives toward the Earth. He makes his way down toward the top of Karin Tower, and Karin throws him his last two senzu. Goku eats one to restore all the energy he lost traveling down the Serpent Road, yells for Kinto'un just before he hits the ground, and zooms off toward the battlefield.
Kuririn then starts it off and rushes at Nappa, and Vegeta realizes they must have a plan. Just as Kuririn gets close, he blasts the ground and projects himself into the air. Nappa wonders what he is doing, and Piccolo takes the opportunity to run in from behind and grab his tail. Gohan then heads in to make his move, but Nappa just elbows Piccolo on the head and knocks him out. Vegeta laughs at how they thought they would not have trained their tails for such a situation.
