"Dragon Ball Season Four" is Funimation's digitally remastered release of episodes 93-122 of Dragon Ball. These "season" sets are colloquially known as the "Blue Bricks", and "Season Four" was released in North America on 04 May 2010.

Goku's headed for a showdown with a sinister green fiend!
A new breed of evil - more powerful than anything ever experienced - is putting the world's greatest martial artists down for the count. Goku is quick to join the fight, but he's about to meet his match in the form of King Piccolo. This menancing monster has the power to pulverize the planet, and his murderous rampage will not stop until he controls the power of the seven magic Dragon Balls.

When Krillin is the first hero cut down by monsters minion's [sic], the stage is set for a brutal grudge match between Goku and Piccolo. Earth's greatest champion vows to avenge the loss of his best friend, but first, he must journey to Korin Tower on a quest for the Ultra Divine Water: a magical elixir that could give him the strength to save humanity - or send him straight to the grave!

095 Goku vs. Krillin While Goku and Krillin prepare to throw down in a semi-final match pitting Master Roshi's most accomplished students against each other, Tien seeks out an unlikely source on his quest for answers.
096 Tail's Tale Goku and Krillin continue their spirited battle for martial arts supremacy. The fighting remains friendly until Krillin tries to exploit his friend's only weakness!
097 Final Match: Goku vs Tien The tournament crowd is hungry for a new Master of Martial Arts to be crowned. Goku kicks off the action with a ferocious onslaught, but Tien - anticipating his opponent's every move - responds with a brutal counterattack!

102 Enter King Piccolo In the aftermath of the tournament, Goku embarks on a perilous mission to avenge Krillin's death. An ancient evil has returned to haunt mankind, and not even Master Roshi can defeat this menacing monster!
103 Tambourine Attacks! One by one, the monster known as Tambourine tracks down and slaughters the most powerful martial artists in the world. As Roshi returns to Turtle Island for Krillin's burial, he can only wonder if Goku is among the fallen.
104 Mark of the Demon Tambourine continues his gruesome killing spree, and King Piccolo hatches a heinous fiend whose sole purpose is to track down the Dragon Balls. Elsewhere, Goku emerges from his slumber with vengeance - and food - on his mind!
105 Here Comes Yajirobe Goku's appetite puts him at odds with a mighty master of the sword, but their earth-rattling battle is put on hold when Cymbal comes looking for the Dragon Balls.
106 Terrible Tambourine Another marital [sic] artist falls at the hands of Tambourine, and the next name on the monster's hit list is none other than Yamcha! Meanwhile, Master Roshi leads Tien and Chiaotzu on a quest to recover the remaining Dragon Balls.

111 Roshi's Gambit All seven Dragon Balls have been collected, and only Master Roshi stands between Piccolo and his devious wish. The Turtle Hermit puts a scare into the monster by invoking the name of Mutaito, but can he live up to the memory of his legendary master?
112 King Piccolo's Wish Master Roshi fails to harness the power of the Evil Containment Wave, thus allowing Piccolo to summon the Eternal Dragon. Tien has a plan to save humanity, but it hinges on Chiaotzu surviving a deadly mission.
113 Siege on Chow Castle With his youth restored, King Piccolo ushers in a new world order marked by eternal agony and bloodshed. Meanwhile, humanity's only hope for salvation clings to the back of a ravenous brute who's climbing Korin Tower on a quest for beans.

Audio and Subtitles

The English dub audio is mixed in 5.1 surround sound while the Japanese audio is mono (redundant stereo).

When subtitles are "on", the subtitle track is the direct translation of the Japanese dialogue by Clyde Mandelin; this can be selected regardless of the audio selection. When subtitles are "off", there is still an active subtitle track with translations of Japanese writing that does not appear in the spoken dialogue like signs, symbols, etc. This is intended to accompany the English dub.

Hero Profiles

Tien Shinhan and his little friend Chiaotzu once ranked among the most notorious villains in the Dragon Ball universe, but Earth's darkest hour marks the beginning of their quest for redemption. Thanks to a mutual admiration born of their epic battle in the World Martial Arts Tournament, Tien is quick to join Goku on his mission to avenge Krillin's death and save humanity from King Piccolo. (And where Tien Shinhan goes, so goes Chiaotzu, his lifelong companion.)

Despite their dark pasts, Tien and Chiaotzu prove themselves to be both skilled and courageous warriors. Chiaotzu sacrifices his own life in a heroic attempt to prevent Piccolo from exploiting the power of the Dragon Balls, and Tien - tormented by the loss of his friend - dedicates himself to perfecting the Evil Containment Wave: a technique so dangerous it could very well destroy him.

The shocking about-face of scoundrels-turned-heroes Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu proves once more that good always triumphs over evil.

Yajirobe is a reluctant warrior with seemingly limitless strength and a bona fide bottomless stomach. Unwilling to fight unless it somehow involves food entering his mouth, Yajirobe and Goku initially clash over the right to eat an extremely large fish. Their conflict is resolved when Yajirobe silences his hunger pains with a little snack once known as Cymbal.
After Goku is defeated by King Piccolo, Yajirobe agrees to transport the wounded warrior to Korin Tower - on the condition that he will receive a delicious meal for his trouble. Despite his gruff personality and tendency to avoid any violence not involving food, Yajirobe proves himself to be a valuable ally.

The 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament sees Master Roshi once again assume the persona of Jackie Chun; however his fighting days will soon be laid to rest - along with his clever disguise. More importantly, Roshi fully embraces his role as a mentor by persuading Tien Shinhan to abandon his evil ways and join the battle to defeat King Piccolo.
At Earth's darkest hour, Roshi calls upon the teachings of his master - Mutaito - in a daring attempt to harness the unfathomable power of the Evil Containment Wave. Had he succeeded, Roshi would have saved the lives of thousands of innocent people, including many of his own students. Unfortunately, the aging master's keen skills failed him at the most inopportune time, reducing him to a noble martyr in the war to save our world.

Krillin is Goku's best friend and serves as his comedic foil. He's got street smarts, so he understands things his bushy-tailed sparring partner doesn't: like why their master is so obsessed with pretty girls. Although Krillin and Goku initially have an adversarial relationship, they form a strong bond during their many adventures together.
When Krillin is murdered by Tambourine at the conclusion of the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, it sets into action a sequence of events that ranks among the most epic storylines in the Dragon Ball cannon [sic]. First and foremost, Goku embarks on an impassioned quest to track down and defeat the fiends who slaughtered his closest ally. Secondly, Master Roshi and company risk their lives to gather the seven magic Dragon Balls in an attempt to resurrect Krillin.

Goku is a courageous young boy who loves jumping on his Flying Nimbus and jetting off in search of a good fight. He believes in helping his friends, and he's quick to use his legendary combat skills to protect the innocent.
In his latest adventure, Goku must face enemies far more powerful than anything he's ever encountered. Evil King Piccolo - with the help of Emperor Pilaf - has escaped his Earthly prison and embarked on a mission to destroy civilization. Krillin was the first to fall in battle with the monstrous villain, and Goku refuses to rest until he's avenged the death of his closest friend. To do so, he must increase his punching power by drinking the potentially lethal Ultra Divine Water hidden in an icy cave that can only be reached by climbing Korin Tower. It's a tall order for such a little man, but Goku never backs down from a challenge!

Suno is a kindhearted little girl who once saved Goku's life after his plane crashed in Jingle Village. She witnesses the face of evil firsthand when her attempt to deliver flowers to King Furry is interrupted by Piccolo's reign of terror. As the city around her descends into chaos, Suno is steadfast in her belief that Goku will eventually come to rescue her. She later exhibits great courage by refusing to abandon the injured - no matter how great a risk it poses to her own life.

Korin is the immortal guardian of Korin Tower. He relies on keen, feline intuition to determine who is worthy of the sacred water that unlocks the inner power of those who drink it. Warriors who are pure of heart - such as Goku - may be permitted to drink the water, but evil men need not even try.

Goku makes a second pilgrimage to Korin Tower after his crushing defeat at the hands of King Piccolo. Desperate to increase his strength, the bushy-tailed hero is willing to risk his life by imbibing the much stronger Ultra Divine Water. Korin initially refuses to assist Goku in his quest for the lengendary - and lethal - liquid, but upon hearing that Piccolo has returned to Earth, he reluctantly agrees that it is the only way to save civilization.

Enemy Profiles

Shen is the master of the Crane School of martial arts and Master Roshi's arch rival. Although the two once studied together under Mutaito, Shen's life was consumed by darkness after their master was defeated by King Piccolo. The older brother of Mercenary Tao, Shen orders his star pupils - Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu - to seize any opportunity to inflict pain upon Master Roshi's students, especially Goku. Easily one of the most despised characters in the Dragon Ball universe, Shen eventually gets exactly what he deserves.

Frustrated by their inability to defeat Goku, this bumbling band of wannabe world-conquerors cast their lot with the villain of all villains - King Piccolo! Were it not for Pilaf's penchant for implausible plans, Krillin would still be alive and Piccolo would have forever remained trapped in an electric rice cooker at the bottom of the deep blue sea. Unforunately, these dimwitted power mongers freed the terrifying monster to wreak havoc on the good people of Earth, Pilaf and his comrades were certain that an alliance with Piccolo was a surefire way to attain great power and wealth, but they quickly learned it just doesn't pay to bargain with bloodthirsty bad guys. In the end, King Piccolo double-crosses the troublesome trio, shattering their dreams of world domination.

No arch-villain's entourage is complete without a gang of horrifying thugs who live to do his evil bidding. In King Piccolo's case, he only trusts his own flesh and blood, so the monster literally gave birth to his minions in the most disturbing and grotesque manner imaginable. Tambourine was the first of Piccolo's descendants to burst onto the scene, leaving his mark in the blood of the innocent. Krillin was his first victim, followed by a long list of legendary martial artists. Tambourine's killing spree threatened to go on indefinitely until he met his match in the form of Goku! The heartbroken warrior yearned for vengeance after the loss of his best friend, and a grudge match with Tambourine was the perfect way for him to settle the score once and for all.

Each of Piccolo's children was hatched to fill a particular need. Piano was the oldest and smartest of his brethren, but he was never intended to fight. Rather, he stuck close by his father and helped handle the day-to-day masterminding of a hostile planetary takeover. Cymbal was a physically imposing brute borne of Piccolo's hunger to collect the seven Dragon Balls, but he tragically crossed paths with Yajirobe, a brawler whose bottomless pit of a stomach became the final resting place for the percussive prince of pain! The last - and strongest - of Piccolo's children was Drum. Retched forth into the world after his father's youth was restored, Drum's power dwarfed that of his siblings, but he nevertheless proved to be no match for Goku, especially after the little man downed a draught of the Ultra Divine Water.

Long, long ago, a mortifying monster known as Piccolo blazed a gruesome trail of death and destruction across the far corners of the planet. His strength was such that even Earth's greatest warriors were powerless to defeat him. Humanity lived in fear of this new menace until a skilled martial artist named Mutaito sacrificed his own life by using the Evil Containment Wave to trap the monster in an electric rice cooker.
Years later, the threat that was so narrowly avoided returned to wreak havoc on an unsuspecting world. Due to the interference of Emperor Pilaf and his sidekicks, Piccolo escaped from his prison, free to resume his deadly rampage. Though his powers were still intact, age had taken its toll on the monster, leaving the seven Dragon Balls as his only chance at regaining the vitality of youth. To ensure that his quest for restoration was unimpeded, Piccolo ordered his minions to slaughter the most powerful martial artists in existence - starting with Krillin. This monstrous killing spree set in motion a chain of events with only one possible outcome: a fight-to-the-death grudge match between Goku and Piccolo!
