Piano is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. Piano makes his debut in chapter 135, published in the 1987 #35 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.
Biography
Piano is a demon spawned by the Demon King Piccolo, born at some point after the Pilaf Gang's retrieval and opening of the rice cooker Piccolo had been sealed in. Piano serves the Demon King as his right-hand man, attending to his needs and desires while Piccolo spawns more demons to advance his plans. Tambourine and Cymbal are sent out to gather Dragon Balls and eliminate martial artists, as Piccolo wants to wish for eternal youth and make sure no one can ever seal him away again.[1][2][3]
When Piccolo learns that Cymbal and Tambourine have been killed, he goes after the mysterious demon slayer himself. This turns out to be a boy named Son Goku, who has foiled the Pilaf Gang's plans multiple times in the past.[4] He even manages to knock the Demon King to the ground, which freaks out the Pilaf Gang, but Piano is not worried.[5] Piccolo gets back up, easily defeats Goku, and takes a Dragon Ball from his lifeless body.[6] The remaining Dragon Balls are held by an old man who turns out to know the same Mafūba technique that sealed the Demon King away long ago. This does scare Piano, but the old man fails to seal Piccolo away and dies.[7] Piccolo gets all the Dragon Balls together, summons Shenlong, and has his wish granted.[8]
Having regained his youth, Piccolo sets his sights on world domination and dethrones the Earth's King at King Castle.[9] He announces his demonic plans for the world live on television, and Tenshinhan comes to challenge him.[10] Piccolo spawns Drum and has him fight in his stead, but then Goku shows up and instantly kills Drum.[11] Astonished that Goku is still alive and so much stronger than before, Piccolo starts to fight him. Goku says he will make Piccolo pay for killing people he cared about, and sends him flying — into Piano, killing the latter.[12]
Name
