"Defiance to the Face of Despair!! The Remaining Super Warriors- Gohan and Trunks" is the second TV Special of the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Z. The TV Special first aired in Japan on Fuji TV on 24 February 1993, receiving a ratings share of 23.6%. The episode was written by Hiroshi Toda and directed by Yoshihiro Ueda.
Synopsis
Everyone gathers around at Son Goku's house mourning about his persist heart disease. By time his son, Son Gohan, arrives, Goku has passed away. Everyone takes this hard, and continues on about their lives for half a year. Then a pair of devilish duo appears on an island and starts murdering the people. The warriors step in, however, they are mercilessly killed, leaving only Son Gohan to survive. The Earth is plunged into the depth of despair, thanks to the killing machines that are Artifical Humans. The time forwards to thirteen years. Trunks, the son of the Saiyan prince Vegeta and Bulma, is now the teenager, and has been training under his mentor, Gohan, in hope of defeating the evil Artificial Humans. Bulma has been building a time machine with the purpose of having the history changed. Eventually Gohan is killed, which triggers Trunks' transformation into Super Saiyan. Even with his newfound powers are not enough to defeat them, and was badly beaten. Recovered, Trunks has agreed to travel back in the past to change the history. This is the history of the lonesome warrior, Trunks.
