Summary
On Planet Cereal, the Saiyans emerge from Freeza Force ships, and the Cerealites are slaughtered. As one Great Ape peeks through a hole in a roof, Granolla wakes up from his nightmare. Oatmil asks him what is wrong, and he confirms he had that dream again. Oatmil tells him not to worry; OG73-i is in stable condition. Granolla asks if anyone is following them; and Oatmil tells him that after the destruction he left behind, no one would. Meanwhile, Goichi laments back on his ship that OG73-i was stolen again. Oatmil advises Granolla to get some cold sleep since it will be a while before they reach the Heatas' base, but Granolla says that he is wide awake. Oatmil asks if he still despises Freeza's army, and Granolla says that he does. Oatmil reminds him that Freeza died and the remnants of his army are negligible; why does he continue to obsess? It is time to move on. Granolla acknowledges that he probably should; it was those barbarous apes who killed the Cerealites, and they were apparently wiped out by a meteor not long after. Both of his paths to revenge are blocked, but that does not explain why he is still having that nightmare. Oatmil asks if Granolla is talking about the Saiyans, and Granolla confirms.
On Beerus's planet, Goku captures the Oracle Fish and ignores its protests, telling the fish to stop squirming or Goku will fry it up and eat it. Goku calls out to Whis, telling him to do his thing; Whis swoops in with a syringe and injects the Oracle Fish with vitamins for his insomnia. Vegeta asks if the fish really gets insomnia, and Whis tells him it happens occasionally. Goku is impressed that the Oracle Fish can still float while sleeping. Whis goes on to explain that the Oracle Fish's insomnia is a bad omen for the future. Vegeta is disturbed, but then Whis says sometimes it is nothing. Goku complains that Whis got his hopes up; he thought a strong fighter was about to drop in. Vegeta asks if he will ever learn his lesson.
At that moment, Beerus drops in from where he had been napping in a tree and complains that Goku always gets in over his head, and then gets Beerus in trouble. Goku asks Whis if something happened, and Whis says yes, but does not explain. Goku suggests they get back to it; then he powers up to Ultra Instinct and squares off against Whis, who says he is ready when Goku is. Goku takes off up into the air and then clones himself; the clones attack Whis, but he defeats them all and rises up to meet Goku's real body, telling him it was an obvious ploy and then kicking him to the ground. He tells Goku that copying him will not get him far; he must develop his own style. Goku says he was sure that would work.
On the sidelines, Vegeta asks Beerus if Whis is using Ultra Instinct, but Beerus tells him that angels are always in that state. Meanwhile, Whis tells Goku as they fight that wielding Ultra Instinct should not be his ultimate goal; it is only the starting point. Whis has greater control over Ultra Instinct than Merus, and the Great Priest has greater control than Whis. Goku asks if this means he is at the bottom of the ladder; Whis says it only means that he has a lot of room to grow, which should make him happy. And indeed, Goku is excited to get even stronger.
Beerus asks Vegeta if he is not going to try to master Ultra Instinct as well, and Vegeta says it does not suit him. Beerus says he did not think so either. Vegeta says he will surpass Kakarrot another way. Beerus tells him that might be possible, but it is up to him. Ultra Instinct is not the only technique of the gods. Vegeta is taken aback, but Beerus explains that it is the specialty of the angels; the Gods of Destruction are not partial to a technique that requires calm and tranquility. Vegeta demands to know what they use instead, but Beerus says that training people is not in his job description. He walks off, saying he is going to go exercise to wake himself up, but he tells Vegeta that if he sees anything he wants, he can feel free to steal it. Vegeta runs after him, telling him to wait up. Meanwhile, the Oracle Fish sleeps.
Granolla reaches the Heatas' base and drags in the tank containing Seven-Three. Soshiru emerges from the doors as Granolla approaches; he sees the tank, and asks if that is the artificial lifeform that Elec has been wanting. He wants to know how Granolla managed to get it, suggesting they pretend they got it together and split the prize; the guy he just turned over was not worth much. He continues to beg, reminding Granolla how long they have known each other, but Granolla threatens him with two fingers, warning him not to touch the tank, or Elec will be paying him for his head as well. Soshiru insists that he was just joking and encourages Granolla to go get his money, and then drinks will be on him.
Granolla enters the Heata base; Elec greets him, praising his dependability. He tells Granolla to come forward, and then he asks Granolla if the tank is what he thinks it is. Then he tells Oil to confirm it, so Oil uses a device to verify that it is indeed OG73-i. Elec tells Granolla well done, and Granolla asks for his money. Elec tells Maki to pay him, and she loads up a bunch of popsicle sticks in a bag.[a] Granolla asks Elec what he will use Seven-Three for; is he going to create a goon squad like Goichi was doing? Elec says he has no need for troops; if they ever do, they can always hire some, since they have plenty of cash to burn. Military might is a thing of the past; in this era, money and intel are the real power, and Seven-Three is packed with intel. Granolla says he would not know about that; he got his reward, and that is what matters.
Granolla asks what his next job is, and Elec tells him that the state of things is shifting, so they have no assignments for him at the moment. Freeza has been revived. Granolla is shocked, and wants to know how this is possible, but Elec does not know; all he knows is that it is bad for business. Meanwhile, Granolla is elated that he finally has his chance for revenge, and he demands to know where Freeza is. Elec advises him not to try to get revenge; Freeza has come back stronger than ever, and he would not stand a chance. Granolla says to let him be the judge of that, and again demands to know where Freeza is, stepping up onto the dais, but Gas quickly kicks him off, spilling Granolla's bag of money. He holds Granolla's arm in a lock, while Elec tells him not to be such a hothead; he knows about his grudge, but revenge is best served cold. He advises Granolla to chill out and take some time to plan, until they are ready to help. Freeza's army is a thorn in their side, too. He tells Gas to let Granolla go; Granolla gets up and gathers his money. Elec tells him to go home and cool his head, and Granolla tells him to contact him if there is another job. He leaves, and they tell him goodbye.
As Granolla returns to his ship, Oatmil says through his headset that it is unlike him to let Elec have the last word. Granolla vows that Freeza will die by his own hand, but Oatmil suggests he remain calm and treat himself with his earnings. As Granolla takes off, Maki observes that hearing Freeza's name really got Granolla heated. Oil asks Elec why he mentioned Freeza, and Elec explains that Granolla has gotten strong, and the power has gone to his head. They would be in trouble if Granola ever got stronger than Gas. Gas insists that that could never happen, and Elec agrees; his is the pride and joy of their family. Maki also thinks that Granolla could never get stronger than Gas, but Elec says that even though it is unlikely, hedging risks is what business is all about. And Freeza will take care of Granolla. Maki is impressed with his foresight. Elec is more interested in what is inside Seven-Three, though, so Oil says he will start running the analysis. Soon, Elec will have what he needs: the exact location of Zuno, the ultimate intel broker!
On Granolla's ship, Oatmil advises him to rest; it will take two days to reach Planet Cereal. Granolla acknowledges the advice, but then his ship is hit. It is Soshiru, come with his allies to ambush Granolla. Soshiru demands that Granolla hand over his bounty, but Granolla heads for a nearby asteroid to confront them. Soshiru and his goons land, telling Granolla that he has nowhere to run. A voice comes from Granolla's ship, offering to give them half. Soshiru thinks this sounds good, but he should have agreed to that in the first place. The voice tells them to come inside, and he will give it to them. Soshiru bids his allies to enter the ship, but they cannot find Granolla inside. The voice calls them up to the cockpit, but he is not in there either. They find Granolla's goggle on the head of his chair, but no Granolla. It was Oatmil beckoning them inside.
Granolla takes out all of Soshiru's allies outside with a stun technique, and Soshiru is surprised to learn that Granolla can snipe without his goggles. Oatmil informs him that Granolla does not require support to snipe the likes of him. The Cerealites' right eyes are especially adapted to sniping, and Granolla's abilities are a cut above the rest. In fact, Granolla's next shot will pierce his heart. Soshiru gives up, and leaves a popsicle stick in Granolla's seat for the trouble, taking off with his goons. Granolla returns to the ship and replaces his goggle. Oatmil is happy that the exchange was profitable, and compliments Granolla on his sniping, but Granolla admits that he missed one of the targets. Oatmil says it was good enough, but Granolla does not agree. Elec was right; he is not ready to take on Freeza. If he wants to avenge the Cerealites, he will need to get stronger than anyone.
On Beerus's planet, the Oracle Fish tosses in its bowl. The balance in Universe 7 is shifting. The strongest warrior in the universe will soon rise up...

Production
The first twelve pages of chapter 68's storyboards were made available online in advance of the chapter.[1] In the chapter 66 storyboard post, it had been announced that the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc would be ending in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 67.[2]
The "Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc" comes to a close in the V-Jump February special big issue, going on sale in December! Don't miss the incredible climax in the V-Jump January special big issue, where Goku and Moro duke it out in their ultimate final battle!
This announcement came just one month after Victory Uchida announced that he and Toyotarō were about to hash out plans for the next arc with Akira Toriyama.[3]
Victory Uchida: Ah, thoughts on where the new arc might go… I actually have a meeting about that in two days.
Koike: Really?!
VU: So I'll basically be sitting down for various discussions with Toriyama-sensei and Toyotarō-sensei. The idea isn't to get to point of being able to say, "We're definitely going with this!" We're just going to be… narrowing down. We'll be paring down from what were an initial ten or so choices to about three. This is actually the first time we've had to narrow down from so many different options. So we should wind up being able to condense things down into a really interesting story.
Chapter 68 is the first full chapter of the Granolla the Survivor arc.
