Champa is a fictional character in the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Super and its companion manga series written by Toyotarō. Champa makes his debut in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 2, published on 21 July 2015 in the September 2015 issue of V-Jump, as the God of Destruction of Universe Six. He makes his anime debut in Dragon Ball Super Episode 18, broadcast on 8 November 2017 on Fuji TV.
Biography
Champa is a fat cat.
Name
Champa's name is derived from Champagne (シャンパン/Shanpan), a sparkling wine produced from grapes grown in the Champagne region of France. Champa's name pun follows the theme of Gods of Destruction and Angels being named after alcoholic beverages.[2]
Performance
Champa is voiced by Mitsuo Iwata in his first role for the Dragon Ball series. In the FUNimation dub, Champa is voiced by Jason Liebrecht who gave his voice to Tapion in Dragon Ball Z Movie 13 and Jheese in Dragon Ball Z Kai.
