"The Junior Champ is Finally Decided!! Who Will Fight Against Satan?!" is the one hundred and eighth episode of Dragon Ball Z Kai (the international version of the Japanese animated television series Dragon Ball Kai) and the tenth episode of "The Final Chapters", the international branding for the series' Majin Boo arc. The Japanese title card for this episode has never been released; the Japanese episode title has been transcribed from the episode's Japanese audio track.[1]

Synopsis

As Goten and Trunks continue to face off in the arena, the Tenka'ichi Budōkai announcer privately expresses his glee that Goku's group is as incredible as he expected; he has been waiting for the tournament to return to its former glory for a long time. Goku is impressed that the boys are so good; Kuririn says they are better than he expected and evenly matched. Trunks compliments Goten on improving so much in a short period of time; Goten explains that Gohan has been teaching him. Trunks decides to kick it up a notch to see if Goten can handle ki attacks; Gohan and Kuririn panic, worrying about the spectators, and Gohan shouts to Trunks not to do anything stupid, but Goku tells them there is nothing to worry about; the kids know what they are doing. Trunks fires the blast and Goten dodges it; Kuririn panics again as the blast approaches the audience, but Trunks diverts the blast into the sky. The spectators are in shock; they ask what just happened, and one man thinks it looks like Trunks shot a rocket out of his hands. The announcer is relieved that no one was hurt. Goku gloats to Kuririn that he was right about Trunks being in control. Meanwhile, Mister Satan is in distress as he watches from the contestant area; he has seen attacks like these before and he cannot believe he is seeing it again.

Trunks asks Goten what he thinks about that attack; Goten says he can do it too, though he just learned it. He starts a Kamehame-Ha, but says "kamekame" instead, causing Trunks to laugh at him and correct him, but Goten ignores Trunks, shooting his beam, which Trunks dodges. The announcer barely manages to dodge it, and the uncontrolled beam takes off the roof of one of the buildings. Kuririn watches nervously, and Goku is disappointed that Goten cannot control the Kamehame-Ha. Videl watches in near terror. Trunks laughs at Goten's mishap, while Goten sheepishly admits he hit the house. Mister Satan finally recognizes Goten as looking like his father who was present at the Cell Games. The audience is astonished that both children are able to do this sort of attack.

Trunks suggests that they should avoid using ki attacks since Goten cannot control them; Goten agrees. Trunks says Goten should let him settle their fight. As they charge each other, Trunks says he will be the winner, but Goten still thinks it will be him. They grapple and Trunks gains the upper hand, tossing Goten into the air and disappearing. As Goten is looking for him, he appears behind Goten, capturing him in a full nelson. Goku realizes that Goten is in a tough spot. Trunks implores Goten to give up. The audience marvels that they are hovering in mid-air. Trunks tells Goten again to give up, saying that if he squeezes him any harder, he will die. Vegeta finally comments, telling Goku that it looks like Trunks has won the fight. Gohan tells Goten to hang in there; Trunks continues to insist that he should give up, squeezing him even harder. Finally, Goten transforms to escape Trunks; Goku is shocked that he can become a Super Saiyan. Gohan is upset that Goten broke the rules they had agreed upon; Vegeta complains to Goku, but Goku does not understand why Vegeta is holding him responsible for something Goten did. Videl seems to recognize the transformation from the Cell footage. Goten drops out of the transformation, but the audience did not fail to notice it. Mister Satan is terrified; he now realizes that Goten must be the son of the man who fought Cell.

Trunks lands in the ring and chides Goten for cheating; they were not supposed to transform. Goten apologizes and says he could not help it, but he promises not to do it again. Trunks boasts that he can beat Goten without using his left hand; Goten does not believe it, but Trunks insists he can; Goten tells him he had better not use it, and Trunks agrees. They fight hand to hand again, Bulma cheering for Trunks and Chi-Chi cheering for Goten. The news crews are frantically trying to repair their cameras but they cannot identify the problem; none of the cameras in the arena are functioning, and they cannot believe they are unable to film this incredible fight.

Finally, Trunks fires a ki blast at Goten who calls foul, taking to the air and hovering high above the arena. The audience is sure now that he is flying; Goku is impressed that Goten has mastered Bukūjutsu. Kuririn is wondering what Goten is planning, and Videl is upset because she believes Gohan has given Goten special training. Gohan insists that it was just normal training, but Videl is skeptical. Goten charges Trunks from the air, and Trunks braces himself, knowing that Goten plans to use gravity to boost his speed and the aerial view to watch Trunks move. Trunks decides to stay put and dodge at the last minute; he thinks that since Goten has just learned how to fly, he will not be able to catch him. When Trunks dodges, Goten uses a ki blast to propel himself toward Trunks, but Trunks transforms into a Super Saiyan to dodge and get behind Goten. He then uses his left hand to blast Goten out of the ring, breaking his last self-imposed rule. Goten tries to decelerate but his feet touch the spectator stands. Goku seems to feel bad for Goten, Gohan calls Goten a dummy, and Vegeta laughs. The announcer calls the match for Trunks, announcing him as the junior division champion. Trunks celebrates, reverting to base form. Bulma cheers and Chi-Chi is forlorn. Muten Rōshi thinks they both did well, and to celebrate he tries to grab Bulma's behind and gets knocked upside the head.

Goten lands near the ring and stalks up to Trunks, accusing him of cheating. Trunks says, as Goten had before, that he could not help it, and says that since Goten also cheated, that makes them even. Goten is not appeased, so Trunks says he can have whichever three of his toys that he wants, and Goten responds with childish glee, seeming to forget all about his loss. Videl is still in shock, and Goku is surprised that Trunks can also transform. Vegeta laughs and says it seems like Trunks is from a better bloodline. The audience thinks that was the best martial arts match they have ever seen. The announcer tells everyone that it is now time for the junior champion to fight the world champion, Mister Satan, who is cowering in terror in the contestant area while the crowd chants his name. He wonders what he will do.

The crowd continues to chant "Satan"; Goku wonders what he will do, and Kuririn says he will probably say that what they just witnessed was a trick. Vegeta laughs, saying there is no way that Satan will be able to stand up to Trunks. Videl seems confused, so Gohan tells her to ignore them. Goten thinks that Trunks is lucky. (Z 212)

A monk tells Satan that is one strong kid; even he will have to be on his guard with that one. Satan nervously laughs and agrees he might have to take this fight seriously. The monk laughs, telling him not to be silly; Satan laughs and insits he was just joking, but he thinks to himself that he is about to die.

The announcer asks Trunks if he wants to take a break, but Trunks says he is ready, so the announcer calls Mister Satan to the ring. Satan is still terrified, but the monk encourages him to go ahead and get in the ring. He walks out, and the crowd cheers. He asks for their benefit who this kid is who thinks he can challenge the world champion. Trunks watches impassively as Satan points at him, asking if it is him; he says he hopes Trunks is ready. Bulma, Chi-Chi, and their retinue watch blank-facedly as Satan flashes the victory sign while frantically wondering what he will do. He prays that, if he is dreaming, he will wake up. Trunks sizes him up, thinking he would never have guessed this guy was the world champion; he wonders if Satan could be stronger than his father. Goten wishes Trunks good luck from the sidelines, and Satan rudely tells Goten that Trunks does not need any luck.

Kuririn asks the others if they should head for the contestant area since the preliminaries are probably finished by now; Goku agrees. They head off with Piccolo, Vegeta, and Gohan, but Videl calls after them, wondering why they are not interested in watching Trunks fight her father. Gohan is embarrassed and tries to cover; he says that of course they will stay; it might be a good match. The others will not pretend interest, though, and they leave him with Videl.

In the ring, Satan doffs his cape and champion's belt, demonstrating a few poses for the audience while Trunks watches, unimpressed. Trunks decides that he is pretending to be pathetic as a matter of strategy. He loosens his wrists and says they should get started; Satan realizes Trunks is taking him seriously and panics. Trunks stretches his legs, and Satan approaches him, asking him why he is so serious; this is just an exhibition match, after all. Trunks says he is going to go all out; Satan tells him to stop being childish, but Trunks reminds him that he is a child. The announcer asks them if they are ready to get started. Meanwhile the spectators are speculating about the upcoming match; one man thinks that Trunks is really strong, but that means Satan has to be even stronger. The man next to him agrees; Satan beat Cell, after all. Bulma shouts encouragement to Trunks. Mister Satan's heart is pounding; he still does not know what to do. Then he gets the idea to fake a pain in his knee; the announcer asks over the microphone what is wrong, and Satan explains that he injured his knee when he fought Cell, and now that pain is returning. Satan says he kept this injury secret, but now he has no choice but to admit it. The announcer offers to have their doctor look at it and runs off to get him, but Satan instantly recovers, standing up and saying the pain has gone. He is the world champion; it is not important. The announcer asks if he is sure he is okay, and he insists that he is, so the announcer tells the audience that Satan will fight after all.

Trunks is shadowboxing now in preparation for the match, and Satan is back at square one, wondering what to do. He thinks his reputation will be destroyed if he loses to a child, but that gives him an idea; he can pretend to lose on purpose. The announcer tries to start the match, but Satan tells him to wait. He then tells Trunks that he forgot to tell him about the special champion's greeting; they are supposed to gently punch each other in the face when the match begins. Satan admonishes him to absolutely not punch as hard as he can. Trunks says he understands, so Satan tells the announcer they are ready to begin. He claims that Trunks wanted his autograph, but he told him they could do that later. The announcer tells them to begin the match; Satan tells Trunks to come at him. Everyone who knows Trunks is watching with great anticipation to see what will happen. Satan offers his face to Trunks for the champion's greeting, and the announcer compliments his composure. Trunks gives him a weak punch, knocking him out of the ring and into a brick wall. The announcer cringes as Satan falls to the ground; Gohan is cringing also, while Videl cannot believe her eyes. Gohan says Trunks is an idiot for not holding back more. The audience is speechless. (Z 213)
