Synopsis
With Goku having become a Super Saiyan, a grand and fierce battle continues between him and Paikuhan. Goku is heavily damaged by Paikuhan's special attack, the Thunder Flash, and is in an absolutely desperate pinch!! But taking advantage of the opening when Paikuhan fires the technique, Goku blows him away with a Kamehameha. Goku has somehow won. However, according to the Dai Kaiō's judgment, the two of them are disqualified for violating the rules. But the truth is that the Dai Kaiō didn't want to train Goku, who was too strong for him...
Summary
Part A
Son Goku and Paikuhan stare at each other from across the tournament stage. Goku is now a Super Saiyan, while Paikuhan has shed his heavy clothing and turban. Everyone appears shocked at Goku's transformation and ki; Kaiō laughs and explains that he is "just" a Super Saiyan! Kaiō boasts to his West Galaxy counterpart that he will soon have his planet.
Goku springs a fast kamehameha at Paikuhan, which he dodges easily. Goku fires off ki blast after ki blast as Paikuhan races around the ring. Paikuhan seems to disappear, only to reappear standing high above on one of the circling moons. Goku is shocked by his opponent's increased speed, now that he is fighting seriously. Paikuhan strikes at Goku with his Hyper Tornado attack; Goku is unable to dodge quickly enough and is sucked into the vortex. He screams as he is tossed around. Paikuhan's wind cuts Goku over and over again until his clothes are tattered and his body covered with cuts. The wind tosses the spectators around. Tabica goes flying through the stands! Even Dai Kaiō's throne begins to blow away. Goku summons what's left of his energy and manages to stabilize himself in the tornado before sending it flying into space.
Goku surprises Paikuhan with a Super Kaiō-ken and smacks him into a nearby moon. Goku tries to follow up with another kamehameha, but Paikuhan recovers too quickly and counter-attacks to knock Goku into the tournament stage. Paikuhan charges. Goku tries to push him back with a ki blast, but his opponent tanks through it and nearly kicks Goku out of bounds. Goku dodges and recovers. The two fighters state at each other, exhausted.

Tidbits
- Robotoriyama appears in the background, watching the Afterlife Tournament.
- Son Goku uses a Super Kaiō-ken in his battle with Paikuhan, the only time this technique is used since he learned to transform into Super Saiyan. This may have been in homage to the North Kaiō who brought Goku to the tournament and for whom the tournament was dedicated to.
